NUST celebrated the blessed occasion of Eid-ul-Adha with solemnity and a deep sense of community, honouring the spirit of sacrifice and togetherness.

The day began with Eid prayers on campus, followed by heartfelt greetings from Rector NUST, Dr Muhammad Zahid Latif, who appreciated the unwavering dedication and service of the university’s staff.

Later, Pro-Rectors joined hostelites for Eid festivities - sharing smiles, stories and the warmth that makes NUST a home away from home.

May the spirit of Eid continue to inspire unity, compassion and gratitude across the NUST community.

H.E. Ms Jane Marriott, the British High Commissioner to Pakistan, paid a visit to NUST on January 16, 2025. Rector NUST Dr Muhammad Zahid Latif greeted the honourable dignitary and engaged in a fruitful discussion. During the meeting, the two sides expressed their commitment to strengthening collaboration between NUST and the leading higher education and research institutions across UK. They particularly examined potential partnerships to enhance knowledge-sharing and drive impactful advancements in various fields.

As part of his ongoing orientation visits to different schools and departments , Rector NUST Dr Muhammad Zahid Latif visited the University Advancement Office (UAO) on January 17, 2025.

Emphasising that imparting education is a noble undertaking, the Rector underscored the need for developing a robust endowment-building mechanism that supports a broad-based and sustainable financial assistance programme for deserving students.

Given our national footprint, he said that it is incumbent upon us to cater for the educational needs of all units of the Federation. This calls for rigorous endowment building measures, especially to bring deserving yet financially challenged students from the country’s far-flung areas to pursue higher education at NUST.

While acknowledging the contributions of the university’s alumni to NUST Endowment for Educational Development (NEED) programmme, the Rector urged exploring strategic windows of collaboration with international partners in supporting NUST.

On January 14, 2025, NUST had the honor of hosting the esteemed South Asian Delegation as part of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) & World Bank conference on “Promoting South Asia Regional Cooperation in Higher Education”. The delegation, headed by Dr. Noor Amna Malik from NAHE, HEC and joined by representatives of the World Bank, was accompanied by Dr. Rizwan Riaz, Pro Rector (RIC).

This visit showcased NUST's commitment to fostering regional collaboration, promoting knowledge exchange, and positioning itself as a leader in shaping the future of higher education in South Asia.

NUST, in partnership with the Ministry of Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, hosted an insightful event titled "From COP 29 Commitments to COP 30 Action: A Critical Analysis." The event focused on reflecting on COP 29 outcomes and shaping a roadmap for meaningful climate action ahead of COP 30.

The event featured engaging discussions, including a panel of experts from MoCC, IGIS and USPCASE, and marked the launch of the Green Tech Hub (GTH) website, a platform dedicated to fostering innovation in green technologies.

Nustainable had the honor of welcoming Mrs. Romina Khurshid Alam, Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Climate Change, as the Chief Guest, alongside Dr Rizwan Riaz, Pro-Rector (RIC), NUST.
