Introducing WiFiSet Agent for Windows
We are excited to introduce WiFiSet Agent, a new companion app for Windows designed to make WiFiSet network scans deeper, clearer, and more accurate.
Android is powerful, but it has strict system limitations when it comes to accessing certain network-level information. For example, modern Android versions do not allow apps to directly read real MAC addresses for devices on the local network. This can make many devices appear as unknown or partially identified, even when they are active and connected.
WiFiSet Agent solves this problem by working from a Windows computer inside the same network. Once connected, it helps WiFiSet collect additional local network details that Android alone cannot access.
With WiFiSet Agent, WiFiSet can now provide:
Real MAC addresses for devices on your network
This helps improve device identification and makes your scan results more complete.
Computer names resolved through NetBIOS
Instead of seeing many unnamed devices, WiFiSet can display clearer names for Windows PCs and other supported devices.
Smarter device detection
Network devices, computers, phones, printers, routers, access points, and other equipment can be identified more accurately using deeper hardware-level vendor information.
Faster and deeper scan results
The Agent helps WiFiSet build a more complete picture of your local network, giving you better visibility and more reliable results.
WiFiSet Agent is designed as a practical extension to the Android app. It does not replace WiFiSet. It enhances it by adding a Windows-based layer of discovery for users who want more advanced network analysis.
This is especially useful for users who manage home networks, office networks, routers, access points, connected devices, smart home equipment, or any environment where accurate device identification matters.
WiFiSet Agent is available as a PRO feature.
