really enjoyed hearing the reactions to the work over the opening weekend 🀍 thank you to those who contributed to the open call

responding to the theme of local ghosts, I invited visitors to sit across and engage in conversation with shadows β€” or the afterlife. what comes across as distorted noise from afar, personal and intimate anecdotes are heard upon sitting down. humanising the unknown, the work evokes a sense of empathy towards supernatural encounters rather than fear 🀲🏼

these anecdotes were collected from an open call where participants were invited to submit an audio response to selected prompts, alluding to how our encounters with the supernatural may in fact be a reflection of our shadow selves, an inner psyche that we don’t often confront.

i’ll be participating in 𝘰𝘢𝘳 𝘨𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘡𝘴, an exhibition by community arts festival on 25 oct - 3 nov!

the work will result in an interactive installation that explores of the afterlife and challenges traditional perceptions of ghosts as mere supernatural entities. by delving into the symbolism of shadows, the artwork invites participants to reconsider these enigmatic figures as individuals with unique stories and experiences πŸ‘₯

this is an open call for audio submissions to be used as material for the interactive elements of the work. will be very grateful to those who contribute their thoughts n perspectives 🀲🏼
