We’re excited to spotlight one of our recent Meta Community Action Grant recipients: the North Augusta Family Y!

With support from Meta, the North Augusta Y is creating a brand new STEAM-focused youth space designed to spark curiosity and inspire the next generation of innovators. This dynamic environment gives children and teens a place to explore, experiment, and grow through hands-on learning in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math.
Because of this partnership, over the past summer, 196 kids participated in STEAM activities, and the after-school program is serving about 100 kids each week.

By expanding access to quality out-of-school learning, the North Augusta Y is helping foster excitement, build skills, and support working families with enriching experiences for local kids. We’re proud to support their mission and can’t wait to see the impact this new space will have in our community!

Last week in Greenville, Meta was proud to join leaders from across South Carolina for the final workshop in Sustain SC’s 2026 Energy and Water Series: “Balancing the Load: Data Center Energy and Water Strategies.”

As a corporate member of Sustain SC—a non-partisan, non-profit organization connecting corporate sustainability goals with local economic and environmental solutions—we’re committed to bridging the gap between commerce and conservation. Our Community Engagement Regional Manager joined a panel to dispel common misconceptions about data center water use and highlight innovative practices to reduce and recycle water on campuses like ours in Aiken County.

The workshop brought legislators, utility leaders, data center operators, public agencies, conservation organizations, and university researchers all together to discuss solutions in one room. The volume of misinformation is massive, and most of it is out of date. Collaboration, trust building, and transparency are the path forward.

Thank you to Sustain SC for your leadership in ensuring a successful future where business and conservation thrive in our state!

This summer, our Aiken Data Center team headed to the Ruth Patrick Science Education Center at USC Aiken to inspire the next generation of STEM professionals.

🥽 As part of the center's STEM Forward Career Exploration Camp, team members shared their journeys into tech careers — spanning controls engineering, electrical power, and environmental health & safety — and gave rising 8th-12th graders hands-on time with MetaQuest VR headsets and Ray-Ban smart glasses powered by Meta AI.

From the classroom to careers in their own backyard, these students got a real look at the people and technology behind their local data center. 💙

Recently, we celebrated the ribbon cutting of the Born Learning Trail at Beverly D. Clyburn Generations Park, home to Aiken’s first STEAM Trail!

This innovative trail blends Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) with outdoor play, creating fun, hands-on learning experiences for children and families across our community.

Thank you to United Way of Aiken County, Inc. for making this a reality. We are proud to support their Success by 6 program to encourage early childhood development. Their commitment to education, exploration, and community enrichment made this new amenity possible for the City of Aiken, South Carolina Parks, Recreation and Tourism.

America needs hundreds of thousands of skilled tradespeople — electricians, mechanics, fiber technicians and more — to build the AI infrastructure powering our future. That's why Meta just launched America's Workforce Academy, the largest private-sector commitment to the skilled trades with a job guarantee in American history.

This cost-free program supports all participants while they learn, and every graduate is guaranteed a job on a Meta partner's construction site. No experience needed. It's a $115 million first year investment — now piloting in four states, with plans to grow.

Congratulations to Aiken Land Conservancy on the dedication of the Dufour Community Forest at Boyd Pond Park! 🌳

We were honored to join community members, local leaders, and conservation partners to celebrate this exciting milestone for conservation, recreation, and public access in Aiken County.
At Meta, we believe data centers and natural spaces can thrive together. Across our sites, we work with local habitat experts to preserve and restore native ecosystems — and partnerships like this one with ALC, Aiken County Parks and Recreation, and the Augusta-Aiken Audubon Society are at the heart of that commitment.

Here's to more trails, more trees, and more shared outdoor spaces for our community. 💚 Learn more about our approach to the environment: datacenters.atmeta.com/environment

When we build a data center, it comes with four commitments to the community — and Aiken is no exception. Here's what that means for us:

⚡ Energy — Enabling our facility with clean energy and we pay the full costs of our data centers’ energy use so they aren’t passed on to consumers, and fund new and upgraded infrastructure.

👷 Jobs — Creating hundreds of construction and permanent roles, plus supporting skilled trades across the region.

🌱 Environment — Here in Aiken we are piloting mass timber construction with ~41% lower embodied carbon, restoring more water than we use, and preserving over 50% of our campus for natural habitats.

🤝 Local Communities — Investing in grants, workforce development, and long-term partnerships right here in Aiken County.

These aren't just promises — they're how we show up as a neighbor. Learn more about how Meta data centers support communities across the country:

Our AI-optimized data centers are an investment in the future of the US economy, and we’re committed to supporting the communities where we have data centers through responsible energy use, job creation, water stewardship, philanthropic giving, and more.
