I don't think we've been more excited to post up a "Show 'n Tell" about another project yet this year, we're pretty excited about this launch. This is one of those projects that has all the pieces that makes what MindSpark does, soooo "Werth it." It's got a cool industry in Aerospace/Manufacturing, an awesome client/company named, SolAero Technologies, and great people working together. (A big thank you to the team, I'm so proud of you all... of US! Maggie, Shelby, Alex, George, Mike and Nick! well done!)

It's a perfect "Design + Technology" mashup. One aspect of this new website design is the intro video which was soooo much fun to produce, this is kind of a double Show 'n Tell. We've just launched the new website design which is debuting the video that illustrates what SolAero Technologies does, offering vertically integrated solar cell products for space. From the solar cells to the panel array, these guys are powering most of whats orbiting around us and exploring off into the galaxy. So cool, right?

Hello everyone! Just wanted to let every one know that IDEAS Design has officially changed to MindSpark Design Studio, llc. If you haven't already, please like and follow that new facebook profile. And to everyone, feel free to reach out with any questions on how to handle business marketing in this strange new environment. There's a ton of resources at our disposal and we are happy to share our knowledge freely. Onwards & upwards!

Just wanted to get the word out to everyone about the latest ICANN email verification process that's going on.

I haven't seen one of these emails personally yet, so I can't verify what the sender's address should be, but when I see one, I will update as well. A lot of these emails were able to be ignored previously if no contact info had changed, but we're seeing them force the verification, which sounds annoying but its also a good time to make sure you have complete control over your domain name.

I had a client's website go down due to this over the weekend and it took some time with GoDaddy to figure out what was going on. It is not related to your renewal dates or any dates by your registrar.

Just wanted to share that with everyone so if you get an email from ICANN.org about an email verification, it might be best to check into it. I'm sure there will be a bunch of scammers also taking this opportunity to try to pretend to be them so be careful about it. If you aren't sure about an email you get just forward it to me and ask me if its valid or not and I'll let ya know. And I will also post the exact email address it gets sent from that you need to watch out for as soon as I know what that is.

EMAIL SUBJECT LINE TIPS

This week is probably one of the largest concentrations of emails sent all year.

Subject lines are crucial for your promotional email open rates.

Here are some tips for subject lines to help you get seen.

1. Include Localization
Personalize a message with a recipient's first or last name to improve open rates. Research suggests including a city name is even better. (this one surprised me)

2. Use Different Subject Lines
Newsletters tend to start with high open rates, but these decrease over time. Keep your content fresh, and don’t repeat the same subject line for each campaign. If subscribers can’t tell something about your content from the subject line, they probably won’t open your campaign.

3. Keep Subject Lines Short
Most people quickly scan subject lines to decide if they’ll open or ignore the email, so don’t expect subscribers to dig through your subject line to figure out if they’re interested. Keep your subject line to 50 characters or fewer. This is also important as the majority of people are now viewing these emails on their phones, which have limited space to view.

4. Use Promotional Emails Effectively
There are a few ways to increase subscriber engagement with promotional emails. Promote contests and giveaways in your campaigns to reconnect with inactive subscribers. Send subscribers a poll or survey to find out what type of content they’re interested in. Offer a free gift or service as an incentive to complete the poll or survey.
