Walking through Washington, D.C. today feels different. The city carries a heavy atmosphere: immigration raids targeting hardworking people, families at risk of being unjustly separated, and communities living under constant pressure and fear. For the migrant workers who sustain much of the restaurant industry, these are especially difficult times.

Our paper bags were created with this reality in mind. On one side, they remind diners: The food inside tells a story of hard work, of tradition, of distant places once called home.” On the other, they provide space for restaurants to share their Instagram handle — an accessible way to grow visibility without the expense of fully branded packaging.

At Amarillo Works, we design brand identities — from logos and packaging to websites and visual systems, both digital and physical. These bags are an extension of that mission: to make professional design accessible for small businesses, especially those led by migrants like us, who deserve to be seen and supported.

Available nationwide, with free delivery in the DMV area within 48 hours.

Today we showed up with our work, our hopes, and a few boxes full of paper bags. But we left with something even more valuable: a sense of belonging.

Thank you to , , and the amazing team behind this for creating space for small businesses like ours. Especially now, in a time when many minority-owned businesses feel overlooked, isolated, or exhausted, this kind of support means everything.

As a woman, immigrant, and a newcomer in this country, standing in a room surrounded by other vendors from underrepresented communities and seeing all the powerful, beautiful things they are building, reminded me that we are not alone.

, your speech today was powerful from start to finish, but there was one part that stayed with me the most: the reminder that we are in this together, and that there are people who truly support us. Those words mattered deeply today, and I’m grateful you shared them.

Thank you all for holding the space. Thank you for lifting us up. And thank you to everyone who stopped by our table. Your presence made today unforgettable.

Guess who’s showing up tomorrow?

We’re proud to be part of the organized by and hosted at . It’s our very first time participating in an event like this in the U.S.

Funny thing is, back in Cuba we were the ones organizing events like this. Now we’re here, learning the ropes all over again, doing what so many immigrants do in America: starting from scratch and trying to add value to our new communities.

It feels different, it’s humbling, and it’s absolutely worth it 💛

We’ll be showing up with what we’ve built: our takeout paper bags and a brand rooted in purpose and heart. We know how hard small businesses work to stand out, and we’re here to help them do it with branding that’s powerful, personal, and truly accessible.

If If you’re around the Hyatt Regency Crystal City tomorrow, stop by and say hi. We’d love to meet you 🥰

Beatriz is a waitress in Miami. She works double shifts, takes the late bus home, and counts every dollar with a dream in mind: to see her parents again, not in Cuba, where she can’t return as an asylum seeker, but in Punta Cana, under a sun that feels just like the one she left behind three years ago.

Beatriz fled the Cuban dictatorship and reached the U.S., where she applied for asylum, just like thousands of others in recent years, seeking safety, freedom, and the chance to rebuild from zero with dignity.

More than 850,000 Cubans have sought refuge in the United States in the last three years. Many of them are working in kitchens, delivering food, cleaning homes, or caring for the elderly, often invisibly, but always indispensably.

There’s a narrative circulating that Cubans “voted for this”, for an administration that’s now openly targeting and weaponizing immigrant lives. But let’s be clear: people like Beatriz, and thousands of us who arrived in recent years, can’t even vote.
We didn’t choose this. We’re just trying to survive it.

Yes, as a Cuban community, there’s much we must reflect on.
But don’t let the story of one part erase the humanity of another.

Our takeout bags were made for stories like Beatriz’s, to carry them quietly into homes, into hearts, onto tables across America.

If you own a restaurant, the link to our store is in the bio. If you don’t, tag your favorite immigrant-owned spot. Let’s make these stories visible. Let’s make takeout speak.

Some meals carry more than flavor. They carry distance, the kind that aches. They carry sacrifice, the kind you can’t always see. And sometimes, they carry a hope that reaches across borders.

This is the story of a delivery worker from Venezuela. He rides through the night in a city that barely sees him, sending money home so his daughter can eat, so his wife doesn’t have to stretch every dollar beyond breaking. And yet, people like him are the first to face the consequences when policies grow harsher and anti-immigrant sentiment rises.

At Amarillo Works, we created these paper bags so their labor wouldn’t go unnoticed, so their stories could be carried into homes, onto tables, into conversations.

If you own a restaurant, the link to our store is in the bio.
If you don’t, you can still help by recommending our bags to your favorite spot 🙏

Some meals carry more than flavor. They carry sacrifice, the ache of distance, hard labor, and stories that too often go unseen.

This is the story behind so many of the takeout orders that make their way into our homes. And now, that story travels in something made to honor where it came from.

We designed these paper bags to speak for the hands behind the food. Not loudly, but clearly.

If you believe food is never just food in America, this is your moment to talk about it. Because silence helps no one and stories like this need to be told, especially now.

If you own a restaurant, the link to our store is in the bio. If you don’t, you can help by recommending our paper bags to your favorite spot 💛

Running a small business on this times feels like an endless contradiction…

We’ve personally boycotted Amazon, canceled our subscriptions, and stood against everything it represents, only to find ourselves having to sell on Amazon just to stay afloat. Because what’s the alternative? Die off quietly or wait for someone to find us on our own website?

That’s exactly what we’re asking with this post.

You can find our takeout bags on Amazon. You can find them on eBay. And soon, you’ll find them on Walmart. But if you believe in small businesses, in immigrants making America Great, and ethical choices, we ask you to find us where we truly belong, on our own platform, where your purchase actually matters.

✨15% OFF for a limited time + lower shipping costs✨

Every choice we make shapes the world we want to live in.

Thank you for supporting businesses that stand for something real 💛
