500+ nesting doll sets. One collector. Zero chaos. 🪆

Mary Vretas's impressive archive spans Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Poland, Turkey, China, and more. And behind every doll is a full cycle of hunting, researching, measuring, photographing, and cataloging.

She uses CatalogIt to document it: research notes, photos, measurements, and the stories behind each piece. “What appears at first glance to be a collection of painted wooden dolls is also a record of changing artistic styles, workshop traditions, cultural influences, and historical periods across Eastern Europe.”

Many thanks to Mary for sharing this incredible look into the archive. To explore it yourself, check out Mary’s browsable collection on the CatalogIt HUB! https://hub.catalogit.app/mvretasmatryoshkaarchive

Exciting news for aviation history fans! The British Columbia Aviation Museum has acquired a de Havilland Vampire: Canada's first fighter jet, a Blue Devils demo team veteran, and a former aircraft in John Travolta's collection. 🛩️

This Cold War-era jet served with 442 Squadron in Vancouver from 1948-1958 before becoming one of the most storied private aircraft in Canadian aviation history. It's now headed to North Saanich to join the museum's remarkable collection.

Congratulations to our client, the BC Aviation Museum, on this incredible addition!

The Cold War-era de Havilland Vampire, Canada’s first fighter jet and part of the Blue Devils acrobatic team, will be a feature attraction at the B.C. Aviation Museum.

"We don't want to keep things hidden away. This is your collection. We're just keeping it for you."

We love how the Fredericksburg Area Museum thinks about collections as living, community-driven resources. Their Curator of Collections, Kylie Thomson, answers questions about the collection on her phone at community events, welcomes college students to catalog 700+ historic photographs, and has been gearing up for a major U.S. 250th anniversary exhibit that's now open.

Great food and music, and a wonderful showcase of the deep history of South Texas.

Dan got to connect with Dr. Francisco Guajardo, CEO of MOST History—and one of our fantastic CatalogIt clients! It's always a pleasure seeing the incredible work our museum partners are doing. 🏛️
