Relay Conference Captioning (RCC) can be a big advantage for small businesses working with clients remotely, especially when clear communication, professionalism, and inclusion matter. Here are several practical ways RCC helps:
1. Improves communication clarity. RCC provides real‑time captions during virtual meetings, calls, and presentations. This helps to ensure nothing is missed.
2. Creates more inclusive client experiences. By offering captions, businesses make video meetings accessible to clients who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. Accessibility signals professionalism and respect.
3. Reduces misunderstandings and improves follow-up. With RCC you can download a full transcript after the meeting. Transcripts can help clients and staff catch important details, confirm next steps, and avoid costly miscommunication
4. Supports remote and hybrid work. With RCC, captions can be used during: video calls, conference calls, and webinars. This makes remote collaboration smoother for both employees and clients—no matter where they’re located.

Relay North Carolina is delighted to welcome back Hope Turpin Turner as the Emcee for our upcoming 2nd Sign‑a‑Thon this year!

Hope is bringing her special flair, passion, and deep connection to the Deaf community to what promises to be an unforgettable day.

Born Deaf, Hope began learning ASL in her teens and went on to become a dynamic educator and advocate. She has taught science at the NC School for the Deaf, ASL at Blue Ridge Community College, and provided private ASL instruction and tutoring. A proud A.C. Reynolds graduate, Hope earned degrees in Biology and Sociology from Salem College, plus a Master’s in Sign Language Education from Gallaudet University.

Today, Hope serves as a Legislative Assistant in the NC General Assembly, where she’s committed to empowering the Deaf community to engage in advocacy at the state level. She’s also in her second term as Vice‑Chair of the NC Council for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. When she’s not working, you can find her playing tennis, hiking, traveling, solving word puzzles, and spending time with her husband, two dogs, and cat.

The next Sign-a-Thon is this upcoming Saturday.
