Something I get asked a lot: "Do you know anyone who can help with our website/brand/design?" For a while the answer was "yeah, actually I can do that." Now there's a proper home for it.

Eliano Studio is live. Web design, brand identity, graphic design, and ongoing design support for small-to-mid-sized businesses who are ready to look as good as the work they're already doing.

and I have been doing this work quietly for a while, and now it's official. If you're building something and your visual presence doesn't match the quality of what you actually do, this is the move. Local or not.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve shared a few impromptu posts around goal setting, and a handful of people reached out with questions about how I actually approach it.

I used New Year’s Eve as an excuse to document my process; focusing on doing goals in a more human, life-aware way that works for both personal and work contexts.

With the new year offering a semi-natural pause to reflect, it felt like a good moment to share it.

If you’re interested in a calmer, less performative way to think about goals, you can find it here:

If you read through it, or if you have approaches that have worked well for you, or things you think would be good additions or clarifications, I’d genuinely love to hear them. I’m always curious how (or even if) others think about this stuff.

Pretty cool to end the year getting quoted in Forbes. Admittedly, I am a bit torn on the topic of annual reviews, but regardless of how I feel about them, I know they can be done better than they typically are.

When done right, they can be a moment to step back, reflect, and reset. Not just focusing on what was or wasn't "met", but really taking a holistic view and thinking if they even align with where you want to go.

Appreciate the feature, and always happy to share what’s worked (and what hasn’t) in helping teams and people grow with purpose.

Thanks and for including me

Your year-end review can do more than recap performance. This article explores how to use it to shape direction, growth, and future opportunity.

❄️ Happy Holidays, from //TREVORFRY.TECH ❄️

As we move through the holidays, it is a natural moment to slow the pace. A chance to step back, create some breathing room, and reflect. Fewer late nights. Fewer reactive decisions. More clarity, more intention. 🔋

Sustainable work requires sustainable humans. 👩‍🦰 The space we allow ourselves to rest, reconnect, and be present with the people who matter most is often what sharpens our thinking and strengthens our leadership.

Wishing you a grounded, restorative season ❄️

This one’s a bit different from my usual career updates and [byte]sized posts.

BoldJourney recently interviewed me about burnout, curiosity, communication, and the people who helped me grow along the way. It’s not a full play-by-play of how I ended up doing fractional CTO work, but it captures many of the experiences that shaped how I lead, how I work, and how I show up for the teams I support.

I talked openly about the early signs of burnout I ignored, the unhealthy patterns I kept pushing through, and what it actually took to redesign how I work and live.

It’s not a “success story.” It’s more of a “here’s what I learned the hard way so maybe you don’t have to” kind of story.

Grateful for the opportunity to put some of this into words, and for the people who helped me course-correct when I needed it most.

Fractional work can feel like a maze at times and it can be completely overwhelming to jump into if you're coming from the traditional 9-5. Go Fractional just released the 2025 Playbook and they included some of my thoughts on scaling teams, cleaning up messy tech, and helping companies grow without burning out the people doing the work.

If you want something practical to help you navigate the multi-client world, this is worth a look.

Balancing tech debt with business goals isn’t about picking sides. It’s about alignment. ⚙️

Tech debt is like real debt. Ignore it, and the interest piles up. Focus only on cleanup, and innovation slows down. The real win comes when technical improvements directly drive business outcomes: faster delivery, fewer bugs, and happier teams. The best leaders bridge the gap between dev and business priorities by setting realistic expectations and finding quick wins that deliver both performance and progress.

⚡The REAL job of a CTO⚡

It’s not picking tech stacks or running standups. It’s aligning every technical decision with business outcomes. 📈That’s where companies either scale or stall.

A strong Fractional CTO bridges that gap before it costs thousands... or worse. Need real tech leadership, not just more meetings?
