Hello. My name is Noelle. I have a head full of spices and C-PTSD. And my smile always carried me through.

Imposter syndrome is often framed as a self-confidence issue best addressed with enough self-investment and well-timed pep talks. But the truth is more complicated.

Sometimes it's entering rooms where your energy and experience are not welcome or respected.

It's being in spaces touting inclusivity while excluding voices that don't fit the prescriptive/predetermined narrative.

It's working for bosses who micromanage and malign your work

Or colleagues who seek to undermine and force you to shrink.

Sometimes the feeling of being an imposter isn't self-made, but rather assigned for existing where you don't belong.

Traditional advice would say to prove yourself, to demand and (acquire) a seat at the table by any means necessary. Make them notice.

I spent my entire career following this advice. And it left me spent and beholden to the whims and discretion of others - some mercurial, some well-intentioned, but none of them in alignment with who l am and how l want to show up in the world.

Now I am committed to the authenticity of self and carving out a unique path where I am anything but an imposter. Instead, I am the architect.
