Security cameras are supposed to protect us, but if setup incorrectly can be used against you. Cloud connected wireless cameras are being hacked every day.

The best way to secure your cameras are to make sure your wireless network is locked down with a complex password and to use 2 factor authentication for your cloud account.

Technical Tidbit:
For those Facebook friends that are customers of Bank of America or Merrill Lynch. Beware of phishing emails from "bofamail.com" accounts. These emails come with an infected excel attachment which will infect your PC with the Win32.Trojan virus. As always, the best way to combat this is update your antivirus solution on your PC or network. With computer viruses running rampant in the internet, I will notify our facebook friends as soon we hear about them.

Houdini and JRAT viruses are plaguing many people and businesses these days. These viruses are propagated through spam independently as an email attachment in a variety of forms such as benign looking shipment notification, payment notice, receipts, invoices, statements or quotations. The main installer file comes as an email attachment in a Java archive file format (filename.JAR).

To help combat this and many other viruses, you should make sure that your pc's, servers, and environments are protected by antivirus programs. If you already have this in place, make sure that your subscription are current and AV signatures updated.
