A few weekends ago, the 7th BLACK SPA EXPO, hosted by my sister Candace Holyfield , took place. This was my 2nd year vending and my 4th year speaking at this incredible annual event. The Expo is specifically designed for the Black Beauty, Health, and Wellness Industry bringing together everyone from nail techs to medical doctors. It’s truly the only one of its kind.

Exactly two years ago, I was asked to lead prayer for the Spa Boss Tribe Facebook group of 5,000+ members worldwide. Out of that simple “yes,” the WorkGod Collective was birthed in September 2023 during our first 3 Days of Prayer. Since then, our community has been faithfully living our mantra: Pray. Pivot. Prosper.

Every week we gather virtually for 8AM Prayer and (CHAT AND CHILL) Bible study, and in just 2 years, here are a few things we’ve accomplished together:
- Adopted a child for back-to-school supplies
- Gifted over $3,500 in financial support
- Hosted virtual Holy Communion
- Led prayer & fasting days
- Given to the incarcerated
- Blessed widows
- Provided groceries for families in need
- A facebook group of 250+ members.

Today, we officially celebrate two years as a collective, making real impact in lives across the marketplace. I know without a doubt that this is where I’m called, and I’m walking fully in who God created me to be.

And then—while hugging necks and laughing at the Expo—I was unexpectedly called to the main stage. I thought someone needed prayer, but instead I was presented with the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award from the Biden Administration. Wait. What?! Yes. That happened.
I know some may overlook it, but I choose to celebrate it.
I’m grateful.

September 3 – Getting Out of My Own Way.
Today was about backend work day — researching, sketching, and thinking through the logistics of future offers. Why? Because how we market and who we market to truly matters. Just posting a dope flyer with a caption isn’t enough anymore. What worked before doesn’t guarantee it’ll work in the future.

The truth is, both the algorithm and the audience change — and that means our marketing and messaging must change too. Data is your employee, consistently working for you. (Read that again.)

The climate around your calling is shifting and the sifting has already begun. As summer settles in, there’s a spiritual and strategic pivot happening across both ministries and marketplaces. Audiences are changing. Algorithms are evolving. Attention is fleeting. But the instruction of the Lord remains clear:
BUILD WHAT STAYS.

This isn’t just about people, it’s about planting.
About principles. About plans that outlive platforms.

Yes, it may take longer.
Yes, it may get lonelier.
Yes, it may feel like you’re losing,but you’re actually lasting.

This is not your summer to sit still.
This is a season of strategy, structure, and supernatural building.
Some of you will test theories. Others will transition into immediate implementation. This is not a summer of leisure. It’s a season of legacy-level labor.

You cannot leave this summer empty-handed.
