SUSAN FAIRGRIEVE DESIGN LLC
A life-long resident of the Jersey Shore, this photographer and graphic designer resides in the village of Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey. “The Coastal Collection” and this exhibit is dedicated to Scott, Fairgri
eve’s late husband, her best friend and the world’s greatest cheerleader. Without his loving support and positive reinforcement, constructive criticism and humor, this series would not exist. Now alumni of The Art Institute of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Fairgrieve majored in Visual Communications. Today, with over twenty years experience in graphic design, advertising and marketing, learned skills as well as a trained eye come through in her work as a photographer. Advertising layout and photography are both composed of design elements blended to achieve one goal—a visual creation for the eye to behold. Possessing a broad spectrum of design sense from a graphic design background, this photographer designs through the lens. With treasures from the sea and nautical elements in her surroundings, her love for texture and shape come through in “The Coastal Collection” series. A very unique and exquisite collection of sepia tone photographs from the New England shores of Block Island, RI and Martha’s Vineyard, MA to the Jersey Shore, Florida coastline and the Nassau beaches of the Bahamas. The collected treasures from the sea and nautical elements for this series are natural, raw and beautiful—a guaranteed delight to a lover of the sea or one with a passion for all things coastal. With coastal Monmouth County, New Jersey being her home, Fairgrieve spends her leisure time on or near the water. She embraces her love for the sea and the beauty of nature in her surrounding environment on the coast. Fairgrieve is a collector of moonsnails and colorful beach cruisers.
