Time spent in nature is renewing and rewarding.

I travel to natural spaces to find inspiration for my art, snapping photos and drawing sketches as I hike. Once home, I distill the subject into its essential elements; forms are simplified and colors enhanced. Acrylic paint is used in bold color combinations, which vibrate on the canvas. My goal is to share the boldness and beauty of outdoor adventure with others; to create joy, awe, appreciation, and curiosity through vibrant imagery.

Highlighting an incredible local artist, friend, and supporter of Great Springs Project: Cara Jackson!

Cara Jackson is an Austin-based artist inspired by the landscapes, plants, and animals she discovers while camping in our state and national parks. Working primarily with vibrant acrylic paint, she captures the energy and beauty of nature through bold colors and iconic compositions. Her work invites the viewer to reconnect with the wild and appreciate nature’s untamed beauty. See some of her depictions of iconic places and wildlife around the Texas Hill Country.

Cara has also been a longtime supporter of GSP, even donating a portion of her earnings to Great Springs Project. We're so grateful to have the support of artists like Cara, who work to turn the natural places and things we love into unique and beautiful pieces.
