There is a quiet misconception in many faith spaces that if you just pray hard enough, read your Bible long enough, or have enough faith, depression will instantly vanish.
But the reality is much more complex.
You can have a deep, unwavering love for God and still wake up feeling a heavy cloud of depression. You can believe in His promises and still need therapy. You can pray for healing and still take medication. Faith and professional care are not enemies, they work hand in hand.
If you are navigating a season of darkness right now, please hear this: Your struggle does not make you a bad Christian. God is not frustrated with your healing timeline.
He is close to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18), and He sits with you in the quiet, heavy moments.
Please remember that taking care of your mental health is a deeply spiritual act. If you are struggling, we encourage you to seek out professional help, talk to a licensed therapist, and lean on a safe community. You do not have to carry this alone. 🤍
