High winds fueled the Palisades Fire in LA, devastating families, including our own at Atmo. Our ultraprecise wind forecasts, used by nations and militaries worldwide, should be in firefighters’ hands. We’re now working with firefighting platforms to make Atmo available in the future.

You've probably never been to Tuvalu, and you might not ever get the chance. Tuvalu, a nation built on coral reefs, faces an existential crisis from climate change, with scientists warning it could be uninhabitable by 2050. It is the least visited country in the world, with annual visitor numbers in the low thousands.

This alarming situation underscores the immediate need for global climate action to prevent further devastation.

At Atmo, we are devoted to providing Tuvalu with accurate and dependable weather forecasts. For the next decade, we will offer AI-generated weather forecasts that are up to 100 times more detailed and 50% more accurate than traditional meteorological methods. We will also train local staff and incorporate these forecasts into disaster management and climate adaptation plans for the community.

The Washington Post: Atmo announced “the first AI-based live global weather forecast.” Its customers include both the U.S. Air Force and countries that cannot afford conventional models.

"We essentially think it’s possible now to use an AI meteorology model to allow every country and region to operate their own forecast,” Atmo CEO Alexander Levy said in an interview.

AI technologies that can predict the weather are rapidly improving, and they're much cheaper than traditional weather forecasting models. Will they be widely trusted?

Record-breaking heat engulfs the globe.

Unprecedented global air and sea temperatures raise concerns over escalating climate impacts.

June 2023 has witnessed record-breaking air and sea temperatures worldwide, with the North Atlantic experiencing extraordinary warmth. The global ocean's significant absorption of heat energy, surpassing previous years by an average of 0.2 degrees, bears consequences for our weather patterns.

With El Niño conditions starting to emerge from these above-average sea surface temperatures, these conditions are expected to only strengthen as the year carries on.

Over the last 30 years, more than 24,000 people have died due to heatwaves in India.

As we move into the future, the impacts are expected to worsen as heatwaves are becoming more frequent due to the increasing effects of climate change.

The extreme heat will impact energy security and the health of people living in affected areas, reversing progress in poverty reduction and inequality.

However, India is working to make strides to mitigate these effects by committing to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. Among the objectives are reducing hunger, poverty, disease, and inequality and promoting education, sanitation, and health.
