This weekend’s project: a PS4 that was reported to be extremely slow after years of use. After diagnosing the issue, I confirmed the hard drive had failed. New drive installed, software reloaded, and it’s ready for Fortnite once again.

We also upgraded the storage from 500GB to 1TB.

Slow PC or Laptop?

Check out your uptime to see if a restart is needed!

Uptime shows how long your computer has been running since the last restart.

You can check it by opening Task Manager:

Right-click the Windows Start button and select Task Manager
or
Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc

Then:
Click the Performance tab
Select CPU
Look for Up time

If your PC or laptop feels slow, restarting is often a great first step after saving your work, of course!
