Project Spotlight: Bringing Detail to the Rails

There’s nothing quite like seeing a massive layout come together! We recently heard from one of our clients who is making incredible progress on his 18’x26’ island layout, and we couldn't wait to share a "behind-the-scenes" look.

Check out these progress shots of his Loop 5—an 11” raised girder loop featuring custom laser-cut girder sides by Ironwood Rails. 🛠️

The Layout at a Glance:

Massive Scale:5 independent loops running simultaneously.
The Tech: His goals are for it to be powered by Lionel’s ZW-L and MTH’s Z4000 transformers, utilizing both Legacy-2 and DCS systems.
The Custom Touch: For the raised loop, he’s using Atlas O track paired with our custom laser-cut girder sides for maximum accuracy and a professional finish.

"The laser cut girder sides are working out beautifully! I have 5 large sections that are going together... things are progressing nicely!"

As our client noted, a project this size takes "lots of clamps and tape," but the results speak for themselves. We are so proud to provide the precision-cut components that help builders bridge the gap between "in-progress" and "masterpiece."
