Cytrence Kiwi App v1.6.0 Release

As Kiwi continues to mature, we're moving from monthly releases to quarterly releases. This isn't because development is slowing down, quite the opposite, Kiwi has reached a level of stability and quality that allows our engineering team to spend more time focused on the next generation of products instead of frequent maintenance releases. What's new in v1.6.0?

🔐 Official Vendor ID issued by USB.ORG
We're proud to announce that Cytrence has officially obtained our own USB Vendor ID from usb.org, making us the first USB KVM manufacturer to achieve this milestone. Owning our own Vendor ID reflects our commitment to security, standards compliance, and long-term product integrity for enterprise deployments.
🏗️ Preparing for the Next Generation
A significant portion of this release focuses on strengthening Kiwi's underlying architecture to support our expanding hardware lineup. The first product to benefit will be Kiwi+ VGA, which will be available for pre-order soon.
🖥️ Improved BIOS Experience
We've enhanced BIOS compatibility with the addition of Boot-Mode Mouse, allowing graphical BIOS interfaces from major motherboard vendors to be navigated with a mouse during boot. Not every KVM can do that. Checkout the demo video and try with your own Kiwi after upgrading to v1.6.0.

Celebrating the 4th of July this year by giving back! We are donating a batch of Kiwi KVMs to Educational Institutions (up to 10 units per org).

Exciting update from the recent Nvidia GTC’26: Cytrence Kiwi delivered a smooth and reliable experience throughout the DGX Spark workshop.

Behind the scenes, the Nvidia DGX Spark workshop team conducted a series of careful evaluations, ultimately selecting Kiwi for its clean, near-agnostic setup:

• With just a few cables connected, the host laptop could access DGX Spark right from boot time
• The seamless KiwiApp experience allowed participants to stay fully focused on their tasks, without worrying about the environment

For those new to Cytrence Kiwi, this is a great example of how Kiwi can support day-to-day workflows. In this case, it proved to be a natural fit for on-desktop AI computing for enabling distraction-free work with state-of-the-art DGX Spark systems.
