TL;DR Immigrants are welcome here. Abolish 🧊. Take action!

Trying to distill my thoughts into one concise and meaningful message feels impossible but nevertheless, here we go. Values alignment is incredibly important to me and I hope it is for you too. To make myself very clear as simply as I can, I have ALWAYS and WILL ALWAYS support immigrants. This is a country built by immigrants and they are undoubtedly what makes our country great. They are woven into the fabric of our society and communities.

I know how devastating this kind of activity is to a community. I live on the central coast of California where the Glasshouse raids happened last year and immigrants in my community are being kidnapped on a DAILY basis. Over this past year, and especially right now given the dangerous progression of 🧊 activity and harm to both citizens and non-citizens in Minnesota, I have been feeling everything – heartbroken, frustrated, scared, appalled, disappointed, angry – but like Sharon McMahon says "the antidote to despair is action". You can't do everything, but you can do something, no matter how small.

In the past year, I have protested (swipe to see the signs I have used the whole time), supported local immigrants rights organizations and food banks to care for my community, boycotted businesses who actively harm vulnerable communities, had daily conversations about what's happening and what we can do, and attended my local city council meetings to support demands for action at the local level. I am adding calling my representatives to my regular action list despite my millennial urge to do anything but be on the phone. I will be participating in the first general strike tomorrow Friday Jan 30th [no work, no spending, and a social media blackout] and I encourage you to join me if you can.

To everyone hurting by what they're seeing happen in this country, to the immigrants who are understandably scared to exist when they were just looking for a better life, the communities being torn apart, I see you and I stand with you 🧡

I also want to note that my stance on this is not open to discussion. If you end up in my comments with hateful vitriol or propaganda talking points, I won't be engaging. I will simply block you and move on. I encourage anyone who feels compelled to comment anything negative to save that energy for educating yourself on what's happening.

Website refresh for Doggie Dreamz 🐶 Swipe through to take a peek at the new site including the updated color palette and a full homepage scroll through at the end!

You don't always need to tear things down to the studs and build it back up again! Sometimes you just need a strategic refresh of your existing site that accomplishes your goals.

Here are some of the goals Mia outlined wanting out of the site and adjustments I focused on as a result:
✔️ Better outlining what she offers so potential clients can see right away how it benefits them
✔️ Fixing the layout and flow of the pages to encourage clients to learn more about her methods, bring attention to important things they must know, and highlight calls to action
✔️ Show off the unique offering she brings to clients including her training, certifications, and results-driven approach
✔️ Making her contact page more robust to streamline the potential client onboarding process
✔️ Updating her color palette feel more like her brand (think: bright, happy, calming, and trustworthy) and work better with her pre-established branding

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY! 💖 💪

As a woman-owned business who specializes in working with other woman-owned businesses, I couldn’t pass up the chance to celebrate women! I did the math today and discovered that 74.4% of my clients have been women-owned businesses or were co-founded by women!

I am a firm believer that empowered women, empower women so naturally I think it’s important to acknowledge and honor all of the incredible women and women entrepreneurs in my life. Thank you for inspiring and motivating me on a daily basis! Special shoutout to Alex (Twig And Stone & ), Katie (Blue Biscuit Digital & ), and Morgan () for everything you do and always being in my corner! And of course, the biggest of all shoutouts to my number one woman entrepreneur inspiration since day one, my mom. I literally grew up in my mom’s shop from when I was born until I was a teenager. True story, her water broke while pregnant with me and she refused to stop working until my dad and her employees convinced her to get in the car to go to the hospital! All that time, I got to witness this strong, powerful woman run her business with grit, passion, creativity, and kindness. Now she owns her own ballroom dancewear company Motion Dancewear and continues to inspire me with those same traits.

Celebrating women is more than just a single day on a calendar. Support, celebrate, empower, fight for, encourage, listen to, and love women all year long. ⚡️

Here are 5 easy steps for an effective & simple Sunday Ritual: 💫
1. Start by burning some Palo Santo in your space and around your body to help clear your mind & reset the energy around you. 🌬✨
2. Take 5 minutes to simply be. Concentrate on breathing deeply & relaxing your mind/body. 💆🏼‍♀️
3. Write down 1-10 intentions for the week ahead. These can be tangible goals, a mindset, or anything in your life you want to work on. 📝
4. Light a candle (magic or otherwise, like a tea-light) & meditate over it to help set your intentions. Let it burn all the way out. 🕯
