One of the biggest things I want everyone to remember is this:

Apple, Microsoft, Google, or ANY legitimate technology company will NEVER call you out of the blue and demand money because there is a problem with your computer, phone, account, or device.

They will not tell you that you've committed a crime.
They will not tell you to withdraw $30,000 in cash.
They will not ask you to buy gift cards.
They will not demand cryptocurrency.
They will not send someone to collect your money.

Scammers use fear, urgency, and intimidation to make you act before you have time to think.

If someone calls claiming to be Apple, Microsoft, Google, your bank, the IRS, law enforcement, or another trusted organization and starts demanding money — HANG UP.

Then contact that organization using a phone number or website you know is legitimate. Do not use the number the caller gives you.

And remember: You are NOT in trouble. Legitimate companies and law enforcement aren't going to demand gift cards, cash, cryptocurrency, or money transfers to "fix" your computer or keep you from being arrested.

If you're ever unsure, stop and talk to someone you trust before sending a dime.

And if you think you've been scammed or someone is trying to scam you, don't be embarrassed. Reach out for help. At Cannon Computers, we're happy to help you figure out what's going on and determine whether something is legitimate.

🚨 SCAM ALERT! 🚨

Scammers are getting smarter, and they’re going after your money through gift cards, bank transfers, and cryptocurrency.

One thing to remember: scammers can spoof phone numbers, meaning the caller ID can actually show your bank’s real phone number. So even if it looks legitimate, don’t trust caller ID alone.

If someone calls claiming to be your bank and says there’s a problem with your account, HANG UP. Then call your bank directly using the phone number on the back of your debit/credit card or from the bank’s official website to verify the call.

🎁 Gift cards? Huge red flag.
🏦 “Move your money to protect it”? Scam.
₿ “Send us cryptocurrency”? STOP!

When in doubt: STOP. HANG UP. VERIFY.

* Social Security number or other sensitive personal information

👉If you ever receive a call that seems suspicious, hang up immediately and contact us directly at 800-250-8420 to verify the call before sharing any information.
