Prototype RF receiver circuit: When I first powered it up, I ended up receiving a signal from over 400 feet away... what could it be? It was a weather station temperature probe, sending humidity and temperature data via 433.92MHz signal! But other than that supposed "noise" the board worked perfectly!

My DIY, hopefully temporary, but otherwise fully functional, 16 bit sound card! For less than 5 dollars!

I have sound again!! So this is how it works... a simple C # program intercepts Windows' audio using NAudio, which is then fed into a linear interpolator to downsample from 48kHz to 22.05kHz and then convert from 32 bit stereo floating point to 16 bit signed mono. The resulting data is then buffered and sent to a USB CDC "virtual serial port"... COM8 in my case

On the sound card (sound board) side: The USB signal is received and interpreted as a block of a certain amount of sound data. The data is extracted by the microcontroller and sent via I2S to a sigma-delta converter, which produces a voltage depending on it's received numeric value. This is then sent through a filter to be received by the audio amplifier. After that it heads on over to the speaker, the black box underneath in the picture, and comes out as sound. And it sounds pretty good!

STM32 Microcontroller Radio Controlled Atomic Clock - The display uses two 5x7 LED arrays, which when using a variable width number font can accommodate all possible time strings in 12 hours format. The microcontroller multiplexes so only one column of the display is actually illuminated at a time. In a revision I multiplexed the other way (rows) making the display brighter and eliminating the need for the transistors. Atomic time is made possible through a WWVB receiver chip and ferrite antenna.
