Teaching reminds me that inspiration flows both ways — my students often end up teaching me!

🎨 A pair of student works in progress.
One of the things I enjoy most about teaching is watching a painting evolve over time. Each session reveals new possibilities, and each decision helps the artist find their way toward their finished piece. 🌱
These students are taking the summer off, so I may not get to see the final versions in person. But it has been a pleasure to watch these works develop and to be part of their creative journey.

I used to think becoming a better painter meant learning how to paint everything. What I’ve learned over the last 18 months is that it may actually mean learning what calls to you enough to keep returning to it.
I completed my mastery art program this week, and I’m leaving with a deeper sense of direction, curiosity, and trust in my own voice as an artist.
That feels worth celebrating. 🎉

A little collaboration project.
He built the simulator, and I painted the landscape around it.

This is mural project number eight for me. A little different from my usual paintings, but still part of the same creative life.

Back to pure oils for this one. No collage, no mixed media, just paint and instinct. Because of that, this 12x16 piece came together almost entirely in a single sitting, though I’ll revisit it tomorrow.

Another painting for my Lyrical Pairings series. I’ll call this one The Gulls. I know seagulls aren’t everyone’s favorite, but to me they mean salt air, beach walks, freedom, wandering, and the nostalgia of summers by the water.

SOLD ✨ “Summer Neighbors”

This painting was created during a time when I was endlessly inspired by dappled light and the way it dances across summer landscapes. It still holds that feeling of nostalgia for me.

Thank you to Valerie’s Gallery .galleries and to its new collector for giving this piece a new home!

🎨 Last call for "Get Yourself Painting!" class

If you’ve ever thought about taking an ART class, or wished for the guidance of private instruction, this is a great way to try it in a relaxed, supportive setting.

Bring whatever you’d like to work on, and I’ll help you make real progress while learning a few new skills along the way. Beginners to experienced painters are welcome.

A fun way to finally give yourself permission to paint. ✨

Spots are limited and class begins Tuesday night 5/12!

I’m excited to share that my new website is live! ✨

It’s a fresh space for my newer work, and a clearer reflection of where my paintings are heading 🎨 It’s still evolving, as these things tend to be, but it finally feels ready to open the door.

If you’re curious, I’d love for you to take a look.

You can also explore available paintings directly through the site.

I’m beginning to explore new print options as well, with the goal of making them more accessible while still honoring the work 🤍 More to come soon.

Explore original paintings by Massachusetts artist Trina Teele featuring meaningful connections between humans and animals, coastal scenes, and poetic contemporary realism.
