Today, we’re announcing the official release of our latest typeface, Beeswacks! A vintage-esque, display sans-serif based on a handful of letters found on an old box of candles made by Columbia Wax Works in New York.

We took those capital letters as guidance in filling out a whole alphabet that retains the worn, hand-painted vibes from the candle box. Beeswacks will be fantastic for logos, posters, signage, branding, etc.

Beeswacks comes in a single weight and includes upper & lowercase letters, numerals, punctuation, diacritics with expanded language support, as well as some alternate character icons and script-y, discretionary ligatures for the words the, of, in, at, and, for.

Today I shared a free pre-release of Beeswacks, our latest typeface, with our Secret Club members. It’s a sans-serif display font inspired by some vintage lettering found on a wax candle company’s packaging.

It’s intentionally imperfect and quirky with an inky, rounded-but-angular character. Looks great in all-caps, but we also added lowercase to match the limited set found on the candle box.

Imagining what a full alphabet becomes from a handful of letters is one of my favorite type design tasks—this was a fun one!

New Stardust Tee in the shop! When life seems difficult, I always remind myself of the bigger picture. And you can’t get much bigger than remembering that everything is made of stardust and stardust is everything. Heavy stuff, but it helps keep things in perspective. The type is set in our Cartridge font. Small eclipse icon on the front left, with full, 3-color art on the back. Printed perfectly here in Salem, MA by our friends Lucky House Mfg. ✨
