☝🏾Hey y’all, that’s me, face behind StickyNote Creative, sharing my “why” behind founding my boutique studio. Because: designing for mission-driven organizations allows me to contribute a small part to the bigger picture of POSITIVE IMPACT–and it’s the perfect way to spend my work week. 👩🏾‍💻

I’m excited to say that I have just submitted my application for an amazing grant called the ! Moms that receive this grant for their small business are able to get financial help to continue growing their business. Join my littles in cheering me on and keep your fingers crossed for me! 🤞🏾🤞🏾

My new design apprentice swung by the office this weekend and received a brief tutorial on designing a postcard in Adobe Illustrator.

As a mom…err, I mean…art director, I couldn’t resist offering a little creative direction, but tried my hardest to relinquish control of the mouse and keyboard and let this kiddo do her thing. Her cookie customers (Girl Scouts, iykyk) will love receiving her first computer designed piece!

And…if you swipe 👉🏾 you might spot an even younger apprentice trying his hand at Illustrator as well 😉

Happy New Year Sticky fans! We are one week into 2024 and I can’t help but to reflect on the highlights, wins, lessons and what’s next for StickyNote Creative:

✨ HIGHLIGHTS
In 2023, I participated in a mastermind course and it helped me glean much needed clarity surrounding where SnC is heading and what success can look like for our studio and how we can best serve you and all of our clients. I am cartwheeling into the new year with a refreshed mindset and am so pumped! 🤸‍♀️

✨ WINS
As a one woman-shop, balancing the project queue and priority deadlines can be tricky. I am proud that SnC was able to welcome 8 new clients into the Sticky Fan-verse and am so grateful for the 15 returning clients who continue to champion and support the work we partner on together. 🤝

✨ LESSONS
After the first four years of operating on "hustle over equilibrium", life circumstances (ie: out-of-state move, parenthood, etc) inevitably forced me to slow down and opt for a better pace on the hustle. While there will always be seasons of busy (and I am more than happy to put in the extra hours to make things happen for my clients), lessons learned have made me more committed to “hustle” no longer being the norm – 2024 is the fresh start of equilibrium!

Entering the new year with grounded footing in being mindful of how many and the type of projects I take on will allow me to better serve each one of you while also better serving myself, family and my creativity – a win for all! 🙌

✨ WHAT’S NEXT?
On the back end, I’m continuing to work on simplifying and refining our processes to both maximize my time and make it easier for my clients and potential clients to connect and engage with SnC.

Keep an eye out over the next couple of months for StickyNote Creative’s…cue drum roll 🥁… brand new WEBSITE!! Y’all I am SO excited about this and I cannot wait to share it with you.

Seasons Greetings! StickyNote Creative is on a winter break and I am currently out of the office enjoying the Christmas season with my family – keeping up with my energetic littles, binge-watching Hallmark movies and recovering from a family trip to Disney World (if I survive!).

Finding the pull and push balance of career and motherhood is never perfect and admittedly, never easy.

There’s so much satisfaction in being able to make my clients happy when I help their projects come alive, and yet there’s inexpressible sense of joy when I see my child’s face light up when I steal away from the office to spend time with them on their turf in the middle of the school day.

This week, I had the privilege of cheering on my kids as they made laps around the park during their school’s sprint fundraiser, volunteering my time with other parents to help make the day special for the students and representing StickyNote Creative as a proud business sponsor.

Mom cheerleader + Volunteer + Boss Babe = Triple duty for the win! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

The smiles, the hugs, the excitement…they make the sacrifices (🤫 burning the midnight oil to catch up) worth it!

In the 2021 fiscal year, the Charlottesville Albemarle Affordable Housing Coalition (CHAAHC) leveraged more than $30 million in private and public funding to serve nearly 3,000 households and 6,000 neighbors in Greater Charlottesville.

The CHAAHC organizations wanted to create a one-page report they could share that would engage and inspire the community as well as educate them on the collective impact of the collaboration between the five local housing-centered nonprofits.

This was a perfect opportunity to use infographics to demonstrate the impact of donor support and the critical work and services provided by the organizations. With the use of illustrations, photography, color and type, the resulting infographic was a visually appealing, fun, and informative summary report that brought to life the impact made on thousands of families on a path to better housing.

Have you ever felt a little overwhelmed by all of the data your organization has and had no idea how to turn those complex numbers into engaging, easy to understand, bite-sized pieces of information to share with your donors and supporters?

Considering the human brain processes images 60,000 times faster than text, it shouldn't come as a surprise that 90% of information processed by the brain is visual.

Our brains love pictures which is why infographics can be powerful tools for any organization to use.

They are a great way to demonstrate the impact you’ve made with the support of your donors and show how your organization has been good stewards of their gifts.

Infographics can be incorporated into your traditional annual or impact report booklet or they can stand alone as a simple yet impactful report.

🤗 A part of my obsession with print design is getting to feel my client’s designs between my fingertips in real life. And y’all, I’m loving the feel of this smooth, uncoated cardstock – it’s the perfect elevated touch is for all those handwritten notes and is such a delightful personal gesture to receive!

📝 When should you send a handwritten note to your donors or supporters? Here are some ideas…

- as a thank you right after a donation
- for your donor’s “giving-versary”
- for your donor’s birthday
- but really…ANYTIME you want to let your donors know you’re thinking of them!

When was the last time you sent out a handwritten note?

In this digital era we’re living in, there’s no denying that there’s something extra special about receiving a handwritten letter or card. More often than not, our mailboxes are filled with junk mail and bills, which can make that handwritten note really stand out and grab your supporter’s attention! Having pre-printed note cards readily available empowers anyone from your organization to write a thoughtful greeting or thank you to your donors and supporters.

StickyNote Creative had the honor of partnering with Boston nonprofit, African Bridge Network (ABN), to create a custom notecard. ABN is a supportive community which values and strengthens the qualifications and experiences of Africans and other skilled immigrants and exists to help them reach their full career potential here in the United States.

This beautiful note card design features the Adinkra symbol, Wawa Aba–“seed of the wawa tree”–which symbolizes hardiness, toughness and perseverance and embodies the resilience and determination of the immigrants ABN serves as they work to build their lives in a new country.

Historical sidebar: Adinkra symbols were originally designed by "Asante" Craftsmen of Ghana, West Africa and embody non-verbal communicative and aesthetic values of the Asante and was the ideal inspiration for a custom designed notecard for ABN.

Hi! I’m Bunmi Adeeko Collins. Thanks for stopping by my page! I am an experienced graphic and branding designer with a passion for creating memorable designs for businesses, weddings and special events. My mornings are made complete with a Starbucks Soy Chai Latte (with a dollop of whip cream of course) or a hot cup of Irish Breakfast Tea with a generous dose of cream and sugar and a bear hug and kiss from my adorable daughter.

My love affair with the print design world began in junior year of high school in Chemistry class of all places! After creating a brochure to display with a molecular model I had to build, I was left wondering what career would allow me to have that kind of fun for a living. That summer I met my first graphic designer, avidly studied her portfolio and knew I had found my calling. Fast forward to present day and my enthrallment with all things print design has yet to waver.

I hold a BFA in Communication Design from Texas State University-San Marcos and an MS in Strategic Design & Management from Parsons the New School for Design. In 2018, I officially launched StickyNote Creative, a boutique branding and graphic design firm.
