Reflections on my ☝️st year in business!!

My first year in business has been....⠀
✨profound ✨exhilarating✨humbling ⠀
✨and so, so, sooooo GD worth it✨⠀

I started this business because I wanted to help people building DREAMS that our world needs to turn into REALITY. To manifest ✨ if you will 😉. ⠀
For my fellow solopreneurs (SOULpreneurs) and aspiring founders, here’s what I’ve learned over the first 365 days living out my dream:⠀

☝You gotta get comfortable with uncertainty. Like, you have to fall in love with uncertainty. Find adventure in uncertainty. Celebrate it. Know you're still doing things RIGHT when there's uncertainty. Because it's the constant in year 1, and I suspect faaaaar beyond year 1. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. There's always something new around the bend. Get used to it & get excited for it.⠀

☝You can't get it wrong and never get it done. So trust your inner guidance system, ditch the perfectionism, and allow yourself to punch out even when the work isn't "done". Cut the cord. ⠀

☝️IT’S NOT GONNA BE GLAMOROUS 24/7. You'll have moments so amazing you're pinching yourself, and weeks spent makeup-less, greasy-haired, in athleisure and getting s**t done. Insta isn’t real life. ⠀

☝Let people see your "mess." Because it's not buttoned-up in year one. You're figuring things out. It's undone. It’s vulnerable. And that's BEAUTIFUL. Most will never be brave enough to take this leap. Let your support system see behind the curtain, to witness your "in-progress" life, and to help you out! You don't have to do it alone. ⠀

☝Work during your peak performance windows, and rest when your mind and body needs it. I do my best work from 7pm-2am. Seriously. That's when everyone else is checked out, eating dinner, sleeping... and when I feel FREE to flow. It's not the way the 9-5 world tells us we need to operate, but it works for me. And that means, on working nights, I sleep in. And that's a gift I give myself to allow myself to recharge. And it's perfect for me in this season.⠀

☝Just because everyone's doing it, doesn't mean it's right for you. My mom would be SO PROUD to hear me say this one. For me, social media has been a constant "but everyone else is doing it!" thing this last year. I've needed the sacred space to build. For me, that looks like not worrying about posting online all the time. I'm doing exactly what works for me right now, and that's okay.
☝It's all up to you. This can be frightening as f**k or liberating as f**k. When you have a success it's BECAUSE OF YOU. When you have a challenge it's BECAUSE OF YOU (no more boss-blaming, people!). Where do you want to work today? What's the most important task to get done? When do you need to take a break? It's up to you. See this reality as empowering and liberating, and you're golden.
☝You will evolve as a human like NEVER BEFORE. A fellow entrepreneur friend said to me—"there's nothing like starting your own business to make you face your own s**t." And. It's. Soooo. True. You will wake up to how you SHINE and how you hold yourself back. Every single day brings a new self development opportunity. The person I am today is seriously evolved because I've shown up for it instead of running away from it.
☝ABUNDANCE MINDSET IS EVERYTHING. Even if you're not raking in the dough yet, INVEST IN YOUR BUSINESS. Keep that energy high and pure. Know it's coming. I promise, it is.
