27 bones. 27 joints. 34 muscles. Over 100 ligaments.

The human hand is the most complex structure in the body. It's also among the most injured in industrial workplaces. Hand and wrist MSDs affect 1.5 million workers every year and cost employers billions. Most accumulate slowly through repetitive motions that no full-body ergonomics tool was ever built to catch.

The risk has always been there. The tools to fully see it haven't. Until now.

Today, we're putting AI in your hands to change that. 🤘

Introducing the VelocityEHS AI Hands & Wrists Assessment, powered by Vēlo. A first-of-its-kind assessment built by our certified professional ergonomists and in-house AI scientists who've spent decades working alongside teams like yours.

No wearables. No three-day wait for the specialist. Simply capture a short video of a repetitive task. Vēlo, our embedded AI assistant, surfaces the grip types, force, repetition, and duration that manual observation misses, so you can spot risk sooner and act faster.

Get a grip on risk you couldn't see before. Watch the team who built it explain why it matters for you.

Curious where you stand on AI compared to the rest of the EHS profession? 📖 👉 Our State of AI Infographic is a must read this weekend.

We surveyed almost 200 of your peers to find out. And we got some compelling answers.

A few things that intrigued us:

→ The #1 sentiment toward AI isn't fear. It's curiosity.

→ While nearly all EHS practitioners are using AI in some form, 77% lack adequate training and nearly half of organizations still don’t have formal AI policies.

→ 58% said they'd trust AI more if they could see it work in real situations. 53% want to understand how it reaches its conclusions.

The gap between "using it" and "trusting it" is where most of the industry is sitting right now. Does that sound like your team, too?

Worth a few minutes with your coffee. Download the full infographic:

When AI is making recommendations about worker safety, "it works most of the time" isn't good enough.

VelocityEHS machine learning scientist Pulkit Parikh, PhD., sat down with British Safety Council's Safety Management magazine to talk about what happens when AI enters high-hazard environments, and why the era of the black box is over.

We won't spoil it, but a few standouts worth flagging:

👉 On explainability: "Workers' lives may depend on understanding the rationales behind AI recommendations and making informed decisions."

👉 On explainability: "Workers' lives may depend on understanding the rationales behind AI recommendations and making informed decisions."her than rubber-stamping them."

👉 On what EHS professionals should ask every vendor: Where did this model's training data come from? How was it validated? What are its known failure modes?

These aren't engineering questions. They're governance questions. And they're now the responsibility of every safety leader evaluating AI.

As global regulations shift from voluntary ethics to enforceable safety laws, the era of the ‘black box’ is over. Pulkit Parikh, PhD., machine learning scientist at VelocityEHS, discusses with us why transparency, auditability, and human-in-the-loop design are the new foundations of worker prot...

Only 25% of non-fatal injury hospitalizations are actually reported to OSHA. If we’re doing our math correctly (*grabs calculator*), that means 75% of them are silent. 🤯

Let that sit for a second.

Our EHS expert Phil Molé, MPH hopped on the All Things Safety podcast from ISHN and got into what that really means and why your recordkeeping data might be giving you a false sense of security. He also called out the "scarcity mindset" that keeps safety leaders stuck in compliance mode instead of actually preventing injuries.

Thoughtful. Useful. A great Friday listen. Check it out: https://www.ishn.com/articles/115235-podcast-transforming-ehs-recordkeeping-into-strategic-insight

There's no shortage of safety training content on the market. But there IS a shortage of content that's built by safety professionals, scenario-based, regulation-aligned, and worth your team's time.

That's why we built the all-new VelocityEHS Training and Learning Library.

👉 Nearly 150 courses. Developed by our in-house AI team and reviewed by our safety experts, not sourced from generic content libraries. Scenario-based learning designed to reflect how work actually gets done. Continuously updated as regulations evolve.

Because "we have training" and "we have training that people actually learn from" are two very different things. EHS leaders shouldn't have to choose between checking a box and genuinely equipping their workforce.

As Women's History Month comes to an end, we're grateful for the opportunity to celebrate women leading boldly. Not just in boardrooms, but in every room.

At VelocityEHS, we've spent this month doing exactly that, led by our Women in Search of Excellence (WISE) Group and this year's theme, "Leading the Change: Women Shaping a Sustainable Future." From keynote Kemba Smith Pradia and spotlights across the organization to the Give Back Opportunity supporting the Malala Fund, we leaned into leading the change together.

It's a reflection of a company where we’re fortunate women lead at every level, from our frontline teams to an executive suite that includes Winnie Ip, Ashley Emery, Rachel Kaiser, and our Chief AI Officer Julia Penfield, Ph.D. who just last week won a national AI Excellence Award from Business Intelligence Group for building technology that prevents workplace injuries. We’re so proud of the incredible work being done to shape the direction of this company.

But truly, this month isn't just about us. It's about the women in EHS running safety departments across the country. The researcher challenging norms. The Moms holding everything together. The women who've earned a seat at the table. The ones figuring out what's next.

That's leadership. Full stop.

It doesn't always come with a title. Sometimes it's just the decision to keep showing up. At work, at home, and in the spaces where nobody's watching.

Here's to every woman leading and building, in this industry and beyond. We see you and we celebrate you 👏 💚

When your Chief AI Officer wins a national award for building AI that prevents workplace injuries… you grab a camera.

No scripts, no teleprompter. Just a team that's genuinely proud. 👏

Powered by our customers. Earned through the strength of their reviews. An honor shared by less than 1% of vendors worldwide 🤯💚

G2's Best Software Awards and Grid Reports aren't decided by analysts or executives. They're built entirely on verified customer reviews. And this year, that feedback placed VelocityEHS #6 globally out of 4,389 solutions, with Leader recognition across every major EHS segment.

9 Leader designations. 15 badges. Hundreds of customer voices keeping VelocityEHS at the top, year after year.

As our COO Winnie Ip put it: "For more than two decades, we have worked side-by-side with organizations to identify risk and solve real-world EHS challenges. This recognition, driven entirely by customer feedback, validates that we are delivering meaningful impact where it counts."

We don't take that lightly. Behind every review is someone who trusted us with their EHS program and took the time to say it's working. Thank you to each and every customer who shared their experience. We're listening. But we're not done earning it.

AI is everywhere right now. But AI purpose-built for EHS? That's a much shorter list.

Verdantix just published a new independent case study — The VelocityEHS AI Roadmap: Strategy and EHS Priority Areas — examining how we're scaling AI across Safety, Ergonomics, Chemical Management, Operational Risk, and Contractor Safety through VelocityAI and our embedded assistant, Vēlo.

Their take: VelocityEHS is a frontrunner in AI-enabled EHS software.

If you're evaluating AI for your program this year (and according to Verdantix, 61% of EHS execs say they are), the question isn't whether AI is coming to your safety program. It's whether the AI you choose was built by people who understand what's actually at stake.

👉 And we do. Read the full announcement here to understand the Velocity difference →
