iPrint&Scan is partly an information-gathering app, at least compared with the older ControlCenter style software.

Brother’s iPrint&Scan privacy policy says it can collect Device Data, including the Brother machine serial number, and that the serial number may be associated with product registration data. Brother also says it may disclose that Device Data to third parties in anonymous format for its stated purposes

So the software that Brother worked so hard at getting right, the ControlCenter4 that makes life easy is replaced by a information gathering system that watches everything you print.

Windows is BEGGING for LINUX, at the same time windows is rolling out CA 2023 and also REVOCATION of any older boot files like LINUX so bye bye dual boot to windows and Linux.

Ubuntu and LInux is ok if the Laser Printer you want to use has known good drivers that we know work. Most things are the same like the browser.
This is a backwards evolution for us, they gather what we do force us on the cloud so they can make us buy their cloud space and use it to gather information on us so they may further manipulate. THe newest Brother Printer did not include the traditional Phone printing app, it was hijacked by a second app that made ZERO sense other than it was a way to force cloud use.

Personal PCS - if you have one take care of it, make sure you can use it as a offline only system as one day this will be valuable.

IF you buy a Brother Printer, make sure you can install control center make sure the actual drivers for the printer are available still on the website. You can buy brother now, but your stuck with surveillance printing. Only brother Iprint and Scan and the scan does not work right.

Today I am moving win11 pro off the 1 Tbyte ssd storage to a 256 ssd and adding a 2 T ssd as well, also cleaning this dell dell precision 7780 workstation ADA 5000 RTX NVIDA GRAPHICS. Also setting up Macrium drive imaging on a schedual plus 1 year antivirus.

I questioned AI about this and here is what it says. Always trust the USER manual over AI and always confirm way AI says. HOWEVER:
