I live in CO and this is a local number. This number reached out to me claiming he wanted a website. He went on to accept my proposal and said he would send a check(bc he didn’t do any electronic payments). First red flag. He then sent a check quickly but I have never seen a check sent by email(second red flag). Wanted me to deposit it and let him know when I did. Next day he contacted me and asked if it cleared(Third red flag)….then that’s when the major red flag hit. He had a sob story of how he had surgery and still owed his consultant money and wanted me to send money via Apple Pay and his business manager would send me an extra $300 dollars for a tip via check. I immediately told him sorry I don’t send out money to anyone, and my bank put the check on hold(made that up), also told him that is a job for his manager 🤣……be careful of the scam, checks take up to a week to clear someone else’s account. Never send out money to people you don’t know. That check got returned and if I sent him out that money it would have been too late bc the check bounced 5 days and a weekend later.
