Here, at the very end of Twelfth Night, we bid the Christmas season farewell until next time. This year was a particularly hectic, challenging, and tiring season, all of which, I think, is reflected in this drawing I made for our family Christmas card: the subject and narrative, the unrefined rendering, the fact it was done after most have concluded celebrations... All of this found its way into this little drawing. For that and many other reasons, I am immensely grateful.

As much as I allowed myself to be overworked and overwhelmed for much of Christmas, I also experienced wonder and magic and a lot of fun with people I love dearly. Thank you to anyone and everyone who helped make this season happy and bright. I love you all. ♥️

This holiday season I am offering custom portrait commissions for all your Christmas card needs!

I’ve got room in my schedule for just a few of these, so if you’re interested please message me ASAP to reserve your spot.

I enjoy doing a yearly holiday illustration for my family, and have had the pleasure of creating some for clients as well. Now I’m hoping to expand that tradition just a bit more and pass it on to you!

Hope your season is merry and bright and just full of love this year.

Peace! ♥️

This is the illustration I did for episodes 5-8, highlighting one of Dan Telfer's homebrewed monstrosities.

Here are some drawings I've done over the past year, many of which were done quickly, during market events and other things.

This past year, I've increasingly been working in a looser, more gestural style of ink drawing, allowing for more improvisation and spontaneity. It has also allowed me to work a lot more in live settings, including commissions. I've really enjoyed adding this style to my arsenal.

Ever since I came in contact with the work of Yosh*taka Amano (), I've appreciated the fluidity and vitality of this type of work, and my interest in Eastern-influenced brush work grew more with the likes of Yuko Shimitzu (), Sun Xun (), and others. I especially love watching a master artisan creating their work, such as traditional Chinese ink paintings and Japanese sumi art.

These works are not an attempt at emulating those styles, but are certainly inspired by them, right down to the way I started stacking my signature info. As I've continued experimenting with this style, I have incorporated more color over time, often with crayon or pastel, keeping the works very much in the realm of drawing, and always with the principle medium being India ink on watercolor paper.

Let's just say I'm looking forward to this year!
