This is why I tell beginners: you don’t have to know how to create everything from scratch.

This backdrop started with a theme, a photo, and an idea.

The skill is knowing how to take those pieces and turn them into one complete design that looks good on the screen AND when it’s printed full size.

That part can be learned.

This is why I tell beginners: don’t wait until you know everything to start designing.

This was one of my earlier backdrop designs. You can literally see it go from a blank canvas… to adding elements… to the finished design… to the customer actually using it at their event.

That’s how you learn.

You create.
You adjust.
You keep going.

Your first designs don’t have to look like your designs 5 years from now. They just have to get you started.

January 18, 2020… my dad’s birthday…

I launched Designing Made Easy.

I was excited.
I had plans.
I was finally putting something into the world that I believed in.

Less than a month later…

I spent my birthday in a hospital bed after having a stroke.

Looking back now, it’s hard to believe both of those life-changing moments happened within weeks of each other.

There were days I didn’t know what life—or my business—would look like next.

But I kept going.

Today, I get to teach creatives around the world, build businesses I love, and live a life I once wondered if I’d fully get back.

This page is where I’ll share that journey—the victories, the setbacks, and everything in between.
