I could have sat and watched these little guys all day. Coming across them was so unexpected and to make it even more special, we were the only jeep there so we got a private showing.

With Africa becoming an increasingly popular destination it’s important which country to visit and camp to stay at. Zambia wasn’t even on our radar until our Virtuoso advisor’s expert advice convinced us this was a better choice for us since our goal was to have these close up private experiences. She had us stay at a camp staffed by locals who know the park and wildlife inside and out who made us feel so welcome.

One of the things I love most about safari is the uncertainty of it all.

You can spend hours driving through the bush with no idea what’s waiting around the next bend, and that’s exactly what makes every sighting feel earned. There are no guarantees in the wild, no staged moments, no script. Just patience, hope, and the thrill of discovery.

On my final morning in South Luangwa National Park, that reward came in the form of a baby giraffe quietly stepping through the golden morning light beside its mother. It wasn’t the biggest sighting of the trip. It wasn’t the rarest. But somehow, it was perfect.

Safari has a way of reminding you that the magic is often in the moments you never could have planned for. 🦒✨

Watching wildlife in their natural environment isn’t just about seeing animals, it’s about witnessing an entire ecosystem unfolding in real time. There’s no script, no guarantees, and that’s what makes every sighting feel so meaningful. Each moment feels earned.

What stayed with me most wasn’t just the “big” sightings, but the in-between moments. The stillness, the anticipation, the way time seems to stretch out when you’re fully present. It’s a different pace of life out there, one that quietly reminds you to slow down and pay attention.

I feel incredibly grateful to have experienced it, and even more grateful to share these glimpses through my lens. These photos are pieces of a journey that felt both grounding and surreal at the same time.
