If you’ve ever chased bubbles with “Ripples the Clown” at the North Douglas County Fair—or caught me and my family setting up booths before sunrise—you already know I love keeping this community smiling.
What you might not know is that, when the makeup comes off, I’m the same neighbor folks can call when their Wi-Fi drops, the smart camera won’t behave, or need help setting up a zoom call with a bunch of your family or friends.

I began as a tech support agent for Hewlett-Packard in the Windows 98 days – I’ve been untangling cables (and mysteries) since dial-up and local network gaming parties.

Tier-2 specialist for Eve Home, Elgato & OBS (2015-2021) – helped many thousands stream, game, and automate their home projects without a hitch.

Led a 30-agent support team through the COVID tech boom – when everyone suddenly needed to livestream church, family holiday’s, and birthday parties, we held the line together.

30 years of front-line customer service, 10+ years leading teams – patience, plain-English answers, and follow-through are baked into everything I do.

What I can tackle for you
Security cameras 📷 | Smart-home setups 🏠 | Phones & tablets 📱 | PCs & printers 💻 | Livestream gear 🎥 …and all the quirky glitches in between.

I’m still just a call, text, or shout across the parking lot away—ready to keep Drain, Elkton, Yoncalla, and Oakland running smoothly one gadget at a time.
Got a tech snag? Drop a comment, send a DM, or flag me down at the post office. Let’s get you sorted—so you can get back to what matters.

🔥 Heatstroke can silence you. A slip on a gravel trail can leave you face-down and unable to move . Out here in rural Oregon—where “one bar” is a good day—that’s scary.
The fix is already in your pocket: a built-in SOS button that dials 911, blasts your location, and notifies family, but only if you turn it on first.

Why bother turning it on?
• No-signal fallback: iPhone and Pixel phones will hunt every available network—and even switch to satellite on newer models—so “No Service” isn’t always the end.
• Hands-free help: A five-press shortcut works when you’re dizzy, injured, or wearing gloves.
• Faster treatment: On-screen Medical ID shows allergies & meds to first-responders without your passcode.
• Peace of mind for family: Automatic texts share your live location until you’re safe.

90-Second Setup

iPhone (iOS 18.5)
1. Settings › Emergency SOS → toggle Call with 5 Presses.
2. Health app › Medical ID → tap Edit, add allergies/meds & emergency contacts, and switch on Show When Locked.
3. Optional: still in Emergency SOS, tap Try Demo to practice Satellite SOS (iPhone 14 +).

Android 15 (Pixel, Samsung, etc.)
1. Settings › Safety & emergency › Emergency SOS (Pixel) or Send SOS messages (Samsung) → turn On, choose 3-5 power-button presses.
2. In Safety & emergency, open Medical information, fill in details, and enable Show on lock screen.
3. Pixel users: Safety & emergency › Satellite SOS → run the demo before heading off-grid.

Need a hand?

If any of this feels intimidating, drop “SOS” in the comments or message me. I’ll walk you through it—free of charge—so you can enjoy the sun, the fairs, and the trails around Drain, Elkton, Yoncalla, & Oakland with an extra layer of safety.

🌞📱 Smart Summer Tip: Lost in the Sun? Your Phone Can Find You – and Even Tell You Where You Parked!

Did you know most smartphones can remember where you parked your car? Whether you’re at the beach, a big festival, or the Saturday market, your phone can quietly drop a pin when you stop driving – then guide you right back later.

🅿️ On iPhone:
• If your car has Bluetooth or CarPlay, it’ll automatically save your location when you disconnect.
• Open Maps, look for the “Parked Car” pin!

📍 On Android (Google Maps):
• Tap the blue dot showing your location
• Tap “Save your parking”
• You can even add notes like “under the big oak tree” 🌳

This is perfect for summer adventures when parking lots look the same and your hands are full of picnic gear. 😎

🌱💧 Ever wish your garden could tell you when it needs water?

Now it can! With new smart sensors, you can monitor soil moisture from your phone and even automatically water your plants when they need it — no more guessing, and no more overwatering.

There are affordable options that:
✅ Measure soil moisture in real time
✅ Send updates to your phone
✅ Trigger watering automatically (with the right setup)
✅ Work with Android or iPhone

Some systems even work with simple hose timers, so you don’t need an underground sprinkler system or a smart home setup.

💬 If this sounds helpful but a little overwhelming, I’d love to help you pick the right tools and get started. I offer patient, local tech help for things just like this — from setting up devices to showing you how to use the apps that go with them.

Ever Wonder If You Left a Window Open?

Imagine this: You’re already tucked in for the night, or halfway to Roseburg, and you suddenly wonder… Did I close the kitchen window?

Instead of turning around or getting out of bed, you just glance at your phone—or ask your smart speaker—and get the answer instantly.

With the right setup, your home can tell you:
🔹 Which windows are open or closed
🔹 If the doors are locked
🔹 Whether the lights are off
🔹 Even what the temperature is inside and out

You don’t need to be a tech expert or spend a fortune to set this up. That’s where I come in.

I help folks in small towns like Drain, Elkton, Yoncalla, and Oakland learn how to use today’s tech for peace of mind, comfort, and convenience.

Do Smart Devices Spy on You?

It’s one of the most common questions I hear—and a good one.

Some smart devices do collect data, like voice commands, video clips, or how often you use them. But that doesn’t mean they’re spying on you. Most of the time, this info is used to improve the product or help the app respond faster.

That said, not all brands treat your privacy the same. Some give you more control over what’s collected, stored, or shared—and some don’t.

Here’s how you can stay safer:
• Choose trusted brands with clear privacy settings
• Use strong passwords and enable two-factor authentication
• Turn off features you don’t need, like voice recordings
• Keep your app and Wi-Fi network up to date

Smart tech should work for you—not watch you.

A Day in the Life of a Simple Smart Home

Smart home devices don’t have to be fancy or expensive. With just a few small upgrades, your home can become more convenient, comfortable, and secure—without feeling complicated.

Here’s what a normal day might look like using just five smart devices:

1. Smart Bulb – Start your day with soft light
Your day begins gently with a smart bulb that slowly brightens around the time you wake up. No more harsh lights or fumbling in the dark—it’s an easier, more peaceful way to start the morning.

2. Smart Plug – Turn things on and off automatically
As you move around the house, a smart plug turns on your hallway lamp and maybe the radio in the kitchen—either on a schedule or with your voice. When you leave for the day, you can turn them off with a tap on your phone.

3. Video Doorbell – Talk to visitors, even when you’re not home
Later, while you’re at work, you get a phone alert—someone’s at the front door. Your video doorbell shows a delivery person dropping off a package. You can see them, speak to them, and even ask them to leave it somewhere safe.

4. Smart Thermostat – Come home to the perfect temperature
While you’re out, your smart thermostat keeps things efficient by using less energy. But about 30 minutes before you return, it warms or cools the house so it’s just right when you walk in.

5. Smart Light Switch – Keep your home lit and secure at night
As the sun sets, your smart light switch turns on the porch light automatically. It helps you see your way to the door—and gives your home a lived-in look whether you’re there or not.

That’s all it takes. Just five simple tools that quietly make your day easier and safer.
No monthly fees. No tech background needed. Just everyday benefits, one small step at a time.

Follow this page to keep learning about smart devices that actually make sense—and how to get started without all the confusion.

Who Makes All This “Smart Home” Stuff Anyway?

If you’re curious about home automation, you might be wondering:
Where do all these smart gadgets come from—and will they work together?

The good news is: several companies now offer complete lineups of smart home tools, from lights and plugs to cameras and doorbells—all controllable from one app.

Here are a few worth knowing:
• Google Nest
Works with Google Home. Offers smart thermostats, cameras, doorbells, speakers, and more. A great choice for Android users and Google fans.
• Amazon Alexa
Echo speakers are just the start. Alexa supports smart plugs, lights, cameras, and security systems from Amazon and hundreds of partner brands.
• Apple HomeKit
Best for iPhone and iPad users. Works with brands like Eve, ecobee, and Logitech. Secure and private, but fewer compatible products than Alexa or Google.
• TP-Link Kasa
Budget-friendly and reliable. Offers smart plugs, switches, lights, and indoor cameras. Easy setup with the Kasa app or voice control.
• Feit Electric
A solid, affordable option sold in many stores like Walmart, Costco, and Home Depot. Their app supports smart bulbs, plugs, cameras, switches, and more. Great for beginners looking to get started without spending a lot.

Whether you’re just starting out or ready to go all-in, these brands offer tools you can build on.

Follow this page for help choosing your first device, avoiding common setup issues, and making tech work for you—not the other way around.
