What looked like a simple hinge repair just became a screen replacement — here's why.

Most of the time, the hinges themselves are fine. The failure point here is actually the plastic top cover. This type of damage can easily cascade into screen damage like this one.

To help prevent this, be a bit more careful when opening and closing your laptop. Putting less stress on those hinges and screws in the top cover will increase the lifespan dramatically.

Got a full PC rebuild sitting on the bench right now. Owner brought it in, it was a dead mobo — new parts on the way, but wanted to share what's involved before it all goes back in the case.

Boards like this always look intimidating, but it's really just methodical work — every connector, every screw has a place it goes back to.

Customer came in and stated their PC would not boot up. After some diagnostics, the cause was traced back to a corrupted windows installation. After attempting to fix the corruption with some of Windows built in tools and checking the drive. Drive was fine and corruption was not able to be traced down properly. We backed up the data and reinstalled windows. Another happy customer, and another PC fixed!
