I've had my current computer for about 13 years. I've had to do a few upgrades along the way but its still going strong and I anticipate being able to use it for years to come. There are so many options now to keep your current computer employed, whether that's upgrades, doing a clean installs of your current operating system, debloating your system, or running an alternative Linux operating system that can revive your old hardware. If your computer is running slow or running a unsupported operating system like Windows 7 or 10 I'd recommend finding out what your options might be. I provide a free PC Assessment (in-home or computer pickup options for those in the Denver region or remote if you're not local) to provide you with what options you might have to revitalize your older computer. Please message me to setup your free PC Assessment today!

With starting this business I really had two goals:

-To help my neighbors with their computer needs when they couldn't do it by themselves
-To save computers from going to the landfill

With the end of Windows 10 and the steep requirements to get Windows 11, I definitely saw the possibility of many computers making their way to the trash heap.

So if you have a computer still on Windows 10 and it's not compatible with Windows 11, but you think there is still life in it and its not ready for the junkyard yet, lets see what can be done to keep that computer running for many years to come.

I offer a free PC Assessment which I can do at your home, by picking up your PC, or even remotely if you're not local. With no obligation to continue with any paid services, I will look over your computers hardware and software and provide you with what I believe would be the best steps to take to keep your computer employed in your home. This could be:
-hardware upgrades
-upgrading to Windows 11
-migrating to Linux
-even keeping things exactly as they are!

A computer upgrade everyone should have at this point is a solid-state drive. If you're still running your operating system on a mechanical hard drive then moving it to a solid-state drive is going to give you an automatic speed boost. I just recently help a client with an old laptop and really the only upgrade we could do was installing a solid-state drive. The laptop was about 10 years old if not older. We didn't change the Windows install at all, just copied over the current installation of Windows to the solid-state drive from the old mechanical hard drive. Afterwards the boot up was noticeably faster and the overall system run more smoothly. Sata solid-state drives are fairly inexpensive (we got this customer a 250GB drive for $24 new on Amazon). If you'd like to make this upgrade but not sure how to install the drive and/or merger your operating system to your new drive, please reach out. I'd love to help!

With Windows 10 support ended and all the issues with Windows 11, I really think its a great time for Windows 10 users to move to Linux. I've explored quite a few different Linux options and I think two great options are Linux Mint Cinnamon and Zorin OS. Both are designed to work "out-of-the-box" especially for those that are doing basic computer tasks, web-browsing, email, word processing, etc. They are free and open source operating systems, they aren't trying to collect and sell your data, no ads to use their browsers, and they're just giving people the option again to use their computers how they want. These are just some of the good reasons you might want to switch to Linux. If you're interested but not sure how to make the move yourself please reach out and I'll not only help you install it but help you learn your new operating system!
