I love symbols. Big or small, I believe they serve a higher purpose to initiate contemplation and serve as messages either from the cosmos or from our deep intuitive compass. The symbols we see can become the initiation for what we may need to call in or let go, or to simply show gratitude or grief.
The red threads on my wrists remind me of the womb connection, the umbilical cord from baby to mother, the inner web we have to each other, our ancestors, the earth, the moon, the bugs, all of it. When we give birth to children or a creation, we offer a piece of ourselves to live in that creation forever, continuing the thread, keeping this web alive. The first 40 days are a time to slow down, deepen our relationship with the body, be held in warmth, protect our creations, strengthen the threads.. Beyond that lives the sacredness of it all and the world combined. The integration is not how the new mother and baby adjust to the world, but how the world shifts around the woman and her creation. When we honor ourselves and each other in this light, we are honoring that web of women before us, the women to come, and the woman within.

2025 recap for Birth Bug! Thank you to all the families who have welcomed me into their space and for those who have connected with me 2025 for their upcoming 2026 births! Absolutely happy to be present in this work and couldn’t grow without my support people. What an honor it’s been to have a year of supporting others who are growing new life while ALSO growing new life (shout out to a personal addition to BB, Miss Wiggly Willow)!
Cheers to all my doula families and doula friends🥹 and to everyone else, I’ll be waiting for your call for your September babies starting tonight 😉

Everything starts with foundation.
Just as our relationships with our partners, parents, friends are built on a foundation, so is our relationship with our cycle.
The menstrual cycle is the foundation of birth education. But understanding fertility begins at the root, not after conception.

Let’s go back to the basics. Back to the foundation.
What information were we given? What were we taught?
Was it framed with shame, guilt, chaos, silence, intervention, neglect?

Without the tools of our foundation, we are left trying to function in a world that holds little to no space to understand this wise knowledge our body has to offer. We are left to be dependent on outside sources to tell us when to bleed, when to ovulate, (or that we need to ovulate on this day or bleed on this day, and if we don’t, we’re in trouble). And the language of “feminine hygiene” as if we are dirty- or the pressure of needing to get this “under control” in order to function in every day life.. All of which leads to suppressing ovulation, quieting our intuition, or masking our natural rhythms. And this is where the foundation cracks.

We can reframe the foundation by returning to the basics. Returning back to the basics means observing the body’s rhythms, her energy, her signals. When we pause to listen, she will speak.

Even if your cycle is “regular” “on-time” and flows effortlessly, paying attention strengthens your connection, builds awareness, and honors the wisdom your body has always had. And if your cycle is all over the place or your body is aching, overrun, intuition is lost and replaced with doubt,
those could be signs that she is asking for you to honor her, hold space for her by slowing down and listening to what she has to say.

Grief is a sacred teacher. It shows us how deeply we can love, how fiercely we can hold on, and how gently we can let go.

Today, I’m honoring a beautiful baby boy who arrived earthside in divinity on this day one year ago, and the incredible strength of the mama who carried, birthed, and continues to love him beyond this earth.

Tonight, I invite everyone to light a candle for him and every family who has walked the difficult path of pregnancy or infant loss. The earth remembers their names forever🤍
