Last week, AFCEA Hawaii had the privilege of hosting Colonel Tassika Davis, Director of Cyber Operations & Warfighter Communications | Pacific Air Forces, as a keynote in our luncheon series. To the many summer interns and emerging leaders in the audience, Col Davis shared inspiration from her journey, about doing the hard work, setting big goals and applying your skills to the mission, all of which brought her to this point as a MAJCOM senior leader. She then dove into strategy, alignment and lines of effort, noting that the basis is similar to Raging Phoenix strategy from the past year. Joint architectures, data centric approaches and focus on infrastructure challenges (including proper power and hvac planning) are critical to achieving resilient C2 capabilities. She embedded several challenges to the contractor community on how to bring ideas and cross pollinate opportunities inside PACAF as much as among the Pacific commands.

AFCEA Hawaii extends our sincere thanks to Col Davis for sharing her time, insight and experience with our community, and for her continued commitment to strengthening the Indo-Pacific mission, fostering collaboration across government and industry, and inspiring the next generation of leaders who will carry that mission forward.

Sosi Tech Talk August 4th 8:30 am-1:30 pm at Tradewinds JBPHH

The Indo-Pacific theater's vast distances demand a new approach to AI. In contested environments where connectivity is constrained and operational tempo unforgiving, AI capabilities must be distributed, resilient, and mission-ready at the edge.

Join SOSi, AFCEA Hawaii, and Google to explore how government and industry are operationalizing resilient, real-time AI capabilities across cloud, edge, and hybrid architectures—moving AI from the data center to the mission edge to deliver decision advantage where it matters most.

What a fantastic AFCEA Hawaii Monthly Chapter Luncheon sponsored by GDIT.

More than 125 government, military, and industry professionals gathered at the AFCEA Hawaii luncheon on June 9 for an engaging fireside chat featuring Brig. Gen. Ray Phariss, Commanding General of the 311th Signal Command (Theater), and Garrett Yee, Vice President for Customer Relations at GDIT.

The discussion focused on the critical role of signals, cyber operations, and strategic collaboration across the Indo-Pacific region. Drawing on their extensive leadership experience, Brig. Gen. Phariss and Yee shared their personal views on emerging challenges, the importance of resilient communications, and the need for close coordination among military services, government agencies, and industry partners to ensure mission success.

A recurring theme throughout the conversation was the value of professional organizations such as AFCEA in developing leaders, fostering relationships, and connecting government, military, and industry professionals. Both speakers reflected on how involvement in AFCEA has benefited them throughout their careers and continues to strengthen the partnerships required to address today's complex mission challenges.

The luncheon was sponsored by General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), a longtime supporter of the AFCEA Hawaii Chapter and an active partner in advancing technology and mission outcomes across the Indo-Pacific.

The event reinforced the importance of collaboration, innovation, and enduring partnerships in maintaining regional readiness and security across the Indo-Pacific. AFCEA Hawaii extends its sincere mahalo to the speakers, sponsors, and attendees who contributed to another successful and informative luncheon.
