Here's what lights me up about working with small businesses.
When a website I build brings in a customer, that customer isn't some anonymous person three states away. They're probably ten minutes down the road. They'll walk through the door, shake hands, maybe grab a coffee and chat. They might become a regular. That's real.
My dad owned a small business. I grew up watching him treat every client like they mattered - remembering their challenges, following up on promises, building trust one phone call at a time. He taught me that small business isn't just commerce. It's partnerships. It's showing up for people.
So when I help a local dance studio or bakery or boutique show up online, I know I'm not just building a website. I'm helping someone's dream reach their neighbors. I'm helping communities stay connected to the people who make them special.
Big agencies talk about "scalability" and "conversion optimization." And sure, those things matter. But you know what else matters? The business owner who's also coaching little league, sponsoring the school fundraiser, remembering how you like your coffee.
That's the human side of business that can't be automated. That's what makes small businesses different. That's why I chose this path.
What do you love most about your small business? I'd love to hear. π
