Website owners: Favicons in search: the rules. Square, at least 8 Ă— 8 px (google recommends larger than 48 Ă— 48); A stable URL (don't change the file's address often); Crawlable (googlebot-Image needs the file; Googlebot needs your home page); One per hostname (subdomains can have their own; folders can't); Recognizably your brand; Nothing inappropriate (google swaps those for a default icon). Want your products on Google Shopping for free? Here's how it works.

Google suggests doing two things: add product code to your product pages, and upload your products to Google Merchant Center.
Free listings can show in the Shopping tab, Google Search, Images, Lens, YouTube, Maps and Gemini.
Every product needs 7 details: ID, title, link, image link, price, description and whether it's in stock.
Titles can be 150 characters, but shoppers often see only the first 70. Put the important words first.

Online store owners: Shipping and returns in your markup. Set one policy for the whole site (google recommends Organization-level shipping and return policies); Override per product only when needed (offer-level policies are for exceptions); Shipping cost and destination (shippingRate and shippingDestination); Delivery time (deliveryTime, with handlingTime and transitTime); Return window and type (merchantReturnDays and... Website owners: Structured data: house rules. JSON-LD is recommended (microdata and RDFa also work); Only mark up what visitors can see (no hidden content); Keep it current (outdated time-sensitive content won't show as a rich result); Never misleading (no fake or irrelevant content); No guarantee (valid markup doesn't mean a rich result will show); Manual actions hit rich results, not rankings (check the Manual Actions... Six Google Business Profile rules people break: use your real-world name with no keywords, as few and as specific categories as possible, customer-facing hours, hide your address if you serve customers at their location, virtual offices don't qualify, and verify your profile. Which rule surprised you?

Online store owners: Product photos Google can find. Use an element with src (google doesn't index CSS background images); Supported formats (BMP, GIF, JPEG, PNG, WebP, SVG and AVIF); Descriptive file names (google's example: my-new-black-kitten.jpg beats IMG00023.JPG); Alt text that describes (don't fill alt attributes with keywords); Responsive images need a fallback (always include an img with src inside picture or... Service businesses: Local Services Ads: the basics. You pay per lead (not per click); Leads call, message or book (you get an email when someone reaches out); Shown in the areas you choose; Google Verified badge (after passing Google's screening); Pre-badge leads possible (listed below fully verified providers); Not for every industry (no badge for auto, beauty or dining). Source: Google Local Services Help: about Local Services Ads. Have you tried pay-per-lead ads?

Website owners: Moving your site without losing it. Map every old URL to a new one (use sitemaps, server logs and analytics); 301 or 308 redirects, server-side (ideally no more than 3 hops in a chain); Keep redirects at least 1 year (so Google can transfer signals); New sitemap in Search Console (and remove the old one after the move); Changing domains? Change of Address tool (not needed for HTTPS, www or path-only changes);... Planning a redesign or new domain?
