Attention parents and caregivers! Did you know that the average American child spends over 7 hours a day in front of a screen? According to recent studies, excessive screen time can lead to a range of negative effects on children, including disrupted sleep, poor mental health, and decreased academic performance.
As our world becomes increasingly digital, it's important to monitor the amount of time children spend on screens and encourage healthy habits. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends limiting screen time to 1 hour per day for children aged 2 to 5, and to 2 hours per day for children aged 6 and older.
At a time when many kids are attending school remotely and using devices for entertainment and socializing, it can be challenging to balance screen time with other activities. But by setting clear limits and encouraging physical activity and other forms of engagement, we can help our children develop healthy habits and thrive both on and off screens.
