Thank you to everyone who has “liked” or “Followed” our business page. We get asked a lot “so what exactly do you do”… so here’s a summary!

We are splicers. Telecommunications, "splicing" refers to the process of permanently joining two ends of an electrical cable or optical fiber together, essentially creating a continuous connection to transmit signals without interruption, often done by fusing the fibers together using specialized equipment, especially when repairing damaged cables or extending a network line. A large majority of our work is done ariael in our bucket trucks, doing our work on the lines. Sometimes these jobs are done on the ground but not very often.

We are contractors. We work for ourselves, but are part of a team of other contractors that travel the state together. We currently are working on bringing fiber internet to homes across Maine. As the company we contract for places their fiber cables on the poles, we come in next, open these cables and splice into the lines to make them ready to run to homes and businesses. After we finish our jobs in that area, installers for the company will start running lines from the boxes “terminals” we install and splice on the line to the home. Essentially, we cut into the cable and make the fiber internet ready for homes!

Andy has done this job for many years. 2023 we decided it was time to make the jump from him bring an employee of a telecommunications company doing this job, to him being a contractor doing it on his own. 2024 we made this a reality. In September 2024 I (Jayme) stepped down from my career I had for years to join him in this adventure! Building our business took an endless amount of blood, sweat and tears but it’s all been worth it!

2025 will bring us across the state, different places & sights to see! I’ve learned many new things in the last few months but one thing to share.. people travel far too fast in construction zones! Please slow down! When you see someone on the roadway.. SLOW DOWN AND MOVE OVER. We see too many close calls! This is dangerous to us, it’s dangerous to our flaggers when need them and it’s dangerous to other drivers. Not only that, when you fly past a bucket truck, someone is in that bucket trying to work, very detailed fine work. Vehicles passing often makes these buckets rock back and forth! This makes our job hard. Fiber is like fishing line made of glass. You can imagine what happens if we’re moving too much.. fibers break. 👷🏽👷🏽‍♀️🛑

Our travels have brought us to Brewer currently, bringing fiber internet to them and surrounding towns! If you see us out and about.. honk and wave! You can’t miss me with a pink hard hat in my bucket truck, and Andy is never far in his bucket truck!
