It’s crazy how Covid has changed so many things. I signed up for a “Wider Self” event last night and I had so much anxiety and resistance just showing up, I dragged my feet. Yes, there is always a bit of resistance showing up anywhere, but how did I become so introverted?!? I thank myself for making it and showing up. I thank the following ladies, , , & for hosting such a much needed magical night. We’re human & we were meant for connection. Last night was what my heart needed 💗

Whoaa this last quarter was 🤪 but I made it!! I’ve been in business for 4 years now. As I’m moving towards my 5th year, I finally made the decision to become an LLC ✨

Waves in Color is now Waves in Color Co. LLC. This is what I always intended for my business, but starting out I was full of fear & doubt and didn’t “want to get ahead of myself.”

My brother warned me about transitioning to a new name & the hurtles that come with it. I shrugged it off, because it’s what I really wanted for myself. Well…everything that could go wrong, did. Everything from my email address getting shut down unexpectedly to losing files in the process. Feeling alone through it all because you don’t want to bother anyone (this season is a stressful time for EVERYONE). I could compile a nice ole list, I felt defeated. But this isn’t a post about feeling sorry for myself or me complaining (maybe I just vented a little. I’m grateful, trust me 🙃).

It’s a post about growth & with growth comes some pain. I’m learning that with anything you love, pain is inevitable but needed. You work hard to get through it, allow yourself to feel all the feelings and you make it out alive. Wiser and full of gratitude.

All to this to say, this year I’ve learned to embrace the messy. Owning a business isn’t a linear path, it’s your own journey and there is NO PERFECT WAY to do it all. I’m still learning everyday (hope that doesn’t stop). I still have to take social media breaks from time to time (it’s what works for my mental health and I’m okay with it). But my point is that if your dream is still living in your heart, it’s important that you keep going!

Whatever joys you have faced this year, I hope you have taken the time to celebrate. And whatever hardships you may have encountered, I hope that they have made you stronger & pivoted you to the next step in your journey!

Btw I also turned 39 two weeks ago 😮, time flies! I’m ending this by sharing my beautiful birthday flowers with you, because like flowers we all take our own time to bloom! Sending my love to you all 💗 Adios 2021!

This has been one of the heaviest seasons for me this year, growth is wonderful in so many ways but it doesn’t come without some pain and letting go. This year I’m grateful for grace, humility & transformation. This includes the grace I receive from my amazing clients that allow me to be human and push me to be more human and myself everyday. Humility, may I always be reminded where I come from and the journey that got me to where I am today. This includes the gratitude I have for the love received from family & friends that have continued to stick by me & support me even when business life gets so busy. And to transformation, I didn’t realize how much work it takes to get yourself out of negative generational patterns. But the only person that can save yourself is you. To the ebbs and flow that continue to build me into the person I was always meant to become, mahalo. And of course to every single one of you, Gracias for riding along on this wave with me. May you all have a wonderful day filled with so much love 💕

What a week! 🤪 So much to still do but the goal this weekend is to feel the sand against my feet. There’s something about being out in nature that always brings me back to center. Self-care is something that I used to blow off, but it’s become a priority and i’ve learned that sometimes you just need a timeout! There’s only one of us made…treasure yourself! Pick one nice thing to do for yourself this weekend (I made a list for you, scroll over) 💝

💜 November is Epilepsy Awareness Month 💜

Today I want to give a big shout out to my clients . Spenser and Danielle are the beautiful advocates behind Seize the Day. Their goal is to create a positive community for epileptics, share awareness about epilepsy and epilepsy first aid, and to help find a cure.

This sticker was created by using purple, the color associated with epilepsy. Our goal was not only to incorporate their ribbon, but also to boldly proclaim their message, "Seize The Day."

💖 Happy Monday beautiful people!💖

I want to reintroduce myself since it's been awhile. My name is Jenn Jiron and I'm the owner of . I'm a Latina graphic designer, who loves art, laughter, color and the ocean.

Being an artist has always been a passion for me since I was a child, and I must admit that my parents weren't too keen on me choosing this as a career path. The world of Graphic Design and technology was introduced to me during my senior year of high school when I had the opportunity to shadow a department of a major corporation. After that, I knew the path that I was taking and no one could stop me.

After receiving a BFA in Graphic Design from George Mason University, my first job was working as a Production artist. Soon after, I became an expert artist designing custom apparel and specialty products. Eventually, I shifted directions and started working at an ad agency in Washington, D.C.

A few years later, life took a different turn and I found myself working and fighting s*x trafficking cases and searching for missing children. A move to Hawaii soon followed, along with a divorce and I found myself starting over. Never in my mind did I imagine that saying yes to one project would lead me to where I am now.

Along the way, I've learned a great deal. Experienced great days and terrible days, but I've discovered myself as an artist. I've learned the meaning of self love and have become a confident (I have my moments ) boss lady despite having ADHD (no longer ashamed to admit it). Being your own boss and showing up every day isn't easy (pictures don't do justice) but it's worth it. I've become my true self through this journey.

In the coming year, it's my goal to continue helping clients turn their ideas into reality as well as expand into new areas (stay tuned). A sincere MAHALO to everyone who has always been supportive and by my side along the way, without you I wouldn't have made it this far! Waves in Color Co. has been a dream come true and I'm deeply grateful. 💖

✨Happy Friday! ✨

This quarter, one of my goals was to start collaborating with other creatives. Everyone is creative in their own way, and I want to celebrate the magic that can happen when two people put their hearts and minds together.

The post that you're seeing is the result of a collaboration between my assistant and I. She is a writer, poet, and a sweet friend of mine 💖.
I've learned so much working with her and she always inspires me!

Have a wonderful weekend and may this inspire you to create!
