Incase you missed it, James Ernest will be returning for Tabletop Oahu Spring 2026, and he'll be hosting panels and demos!

James Ernest is the founder and owner of Cheapass Games. His best-known works include Kill Doctor Lucky, Lords of Vegas, Button Men, Tak: A beautiful Game, and Pirates of the Spanish Main.

In 2019, James sold Cheapass Games and began publishing games through a new design studio, Crab Fragment Labs. Their free print-and-play titles include games like Bread Basket, Stage Blood, and Shipwrights of Marino. Early in 2025, Crab Fragment and Cheapass rejoined into a single garage-based organism, with a combined catalog of more than 200 original games.
