I’ve got a story to share, and I hope you don’t mind the nostalgia.

It’s the mid-90s, one night at a Toys R Us in D.C., and I’m just a kid. Sega Saturn is on demo, and I pick Sonic the Hedgehog, stage: Radical City. I start the race, and then it happens—a song starts playing.

(Living in the city) You know you have to survive
(Living in the city) You’ve got to keep the dream alive...

That voice. That melody. It’s magic. I’m racing, vibing, euphoric. The music follows me long after I leave, humming endlessly in my head. I didn’t know the game or the singer, but that moment set me on a journey of discovering music, making art, and dreaming big.

Fast forward to last weekend—MAGFest. My wife and I had a blast, surrounded by love and positivity. And then, the unbelievable happened.

I met her. The singer from that night in Toys R Us, the voice that inspired it all. Her name is , and she sang for . I got to thank her, talk to her, and she even signed my copies of MSR-Metropolis Street Racer. It was brief but unforgettable.

My wife, , my biggest supporter, stood by, watching as I, the 5-year-old version of me, met someone who lit the creative spark I’ve carried all my life.

Life has its moments, and this was one I’ll always cherish.
