With more than two decades of professional theatrical experience and 15 years as a director, K'Lynn Hocker is passionate about building immersive worlds, creating striking stage pictures, and telling stories through movement. She believes in creating theatre that makes people love theatre—work that is imaginative, accessible, and deeply engaging. K'Lynn currently serves as the Upper and Middle School Theatre Teacher and Director at The Kinkaid School.

🎭 Cue the Conversation: Digital Scenery Edition 🎭

Have you ever seen a production photo and thought, "How in the world did they do that?"

Drop photos in the comments of digital scenery, projection design, LED walls, virtual environments, or any stage effect that has made you stop and wonder how it was created. Whether it's from a Broadway tour, a community theatre, a school production, or something you found online, send it our way.

During our upcoming Cue the Conversation LIVE: Digital Scenery 101 we'll break down some of your examples and talk through the technology, design choices, and practical considerations behind making the magic happen.

This week, our very own (Uncle) Brett is making the trip to the ETC mothership in Madison, Wisconsin! 🎭💡

We're incredibly thankful for our partnership with ETC and the opportunities they provide for us to continue growing our knowledge and expertise with their product line. It's always exciting when our team gets the chance to learn directly from the source, connect with industry professionals, and bring new ideas back to better serve our clients and educators.

A huge thank you to the ETC team for investing in training and education. We truly value the partnership and look forward to continuing to learn and grow together.

As Texas Educational Theatre Association, Inc. SummerFest wraps up, I just want to give a huge shoutout to all of the K-12 Committee and board members who worked so hard to make this conference happen.

So much of what attendees experience, the sessions, networking, organization, and overall atmosphere, is the result of countless hours of planning and volunteer work behind the scenes. Y'all are incredible hosts, passionate advocates, and the reason so many educators leave feeling inspired and energized.

Thank you for everything you do for theatre education and for taking such great care of all of us this week. Your hard work absolutely does not go unnoticed. ❤️🎭

Even though I’m no longer in the classroom, professional development is still one of the most important parts of my work.

The more I learn from educators, the better I can support the students, teachers, and programs I serve across Texas.

Learning isn’t tied to a job title, it’s a lifelong commitment.
