These 8s are so clean, that rigid carbon cone really gives it some high end extension, without a dedicated tweeter. With an fs of 55hz its truly a "full range" driver.

Love a little rebuild. Got 2 of these older Definitive Technology 8" subs, came out of 2 separate SuperCube II's, along with all 4 of the passive radiators! Wild part is, this company ran high output voltage amps, and the coils on these.... THEYRE 25 OHMS! On my 6k, one of these guys would only see about 250w at that resistance, so i was disheartened. I decided to yoink the old assemblies out, which hurt my soul, because they were in perfect condition. Turns out they use a standard 2" voicecoil with a decent gap size, and about a 2" gap depth, hopefully, we'll get a little bit of decent xmax.

Already have 2 new voice coils picked out, new spiders, cones, etc. $15 a piece for the subs as is, $75 in parts a piece, so $90 a sub. Will it be worth it for a couple 500w rms 8's? We shall see.
