We also provided Brian Cody’s Brothers & Sisters Foundation with a set of custom designed event flyers (no AI here!)

In order to design these flyers, we came up with an event theme, The Comeback “A New Dawn”, which focuses on recovery as a powerful return. Event branding features bold sunrise gradients, silhouettes emerging forward, and strong typography.

Designs include the main event, volunteers, 5K runners, artists, and vendors. These get printed and passed around locally as well as shared online to spread the word about the event and gather registrations.

This year’s event flyers received positive feedback, with one volunteer stating, “They look great!” and “Tony [the organizations founder] sings your praises. They’re well deserved.” - Tito Casiano, Vendor Lead

My M.S. in Professional Studies degree from RIT led me to my capstone project, UX Design & Event Hospitality Intervention. I took the opportunity to reimagine Sgt. Scoular’s Annual Awareness Run & Recovery Festival, an annual event hosted by the nonprofit organization Brian Cody’s Brothers & Sisters Foundation. As part of my capstone, I offered a full website redesign, including reorganized information architecture, restructured menu items, and updated visual aesthetic.

THE RESULTS:
📉 32% reduction in average time-to-complete key user flows
2️⃣ Doubled the total artist registrations in one week compared to previous year
❎ Eliminated accidental duplicate 5K registrations

This was all achieved through early and iterative design thinking: surveys, mood boards, personas, affinity mapping, prototyping, and multiple rounds of user testing.

Look at what came in JUST IN TIME for maple weekend!! We’ve been wanting to brand our syrup bottles for a while and have done it in small batches, labeling by hand. But now these are delivered to us already labeled. Small decisive steps forward!

Deztiny has chosen a winner for her RIT grad school capstone project! 🚀

I will be working along side Brian Cody's Brothers & Sisters Foundation to help plan their 6th Annual 5K Awareness & Recovery Festival. In the process, I will be making improvements to the way they collect signups and spread awareness by redesigning their website and designing promotional marketing collateral. I can’t wait to get started and show off all that I’ve learned during the pursuit of my Professional Studies degree.
