Puzzlets

Puzzlets Award-winning ed-tech platform from Digital Dream Labs which combines hands-on play & interactive gaming to teach STEAM principles to K-5 students.

, the award-winning platform, from developers and at ! Innovative programs aim to teach children to think critically (science and math) and creatively (art and design), and to then combine the critical and creative to solve real-world problems (engineering). Puzzlets triggers a child’s natural curiosity, allowing for better understanding of the world

around them, while preparing them for success in an increasingly technology-driven future. The Puzzlets Starter Pack
Puzzlets combines hands-on play with interactive gaming to form one seamless experience, engaging the mind and teaching the player new ways of thinking. The Starter Pack comes with everything you need and setup is simple. Puzzlets connects wirelessly to a personal device like an iPad or Android tablet or to a Mac computer through the included USB cable. Expanding Minds Through Play
Playing Cork the Volcano enables your child to experience thinking like a programmer. The secret is giving kids easy-to-use tools that motivate them to explore a topic. Then, add in compelling objectives to point them in the right direction and hold their interest.

50% Real, 50% Virtual
Puzzlets isn’t just a series of interactive video games, it’s a toy as well. Only half of any game for Puzzlets is played on a screen; the other half is played by arranging and rearranging the Puzzlets Tiles on the Play Tray. We call this 50/50 Play because time playing the game is evenly split between the real and digital worlds. Because there are these two modes of play in each Puzzlets game, it makes working toward a common goal with a friend, parent, or teacher a natural way to experience the game collaboratively. The Tangible Learning Platform
We all want the best for our children, but kids just want to have fun. This can place us at odds with our children, but there is a better way. Puzzlets puts fun and learning hand-in-hand with gameplay that leads kids to think in new ways. We all learn from the games that we play. Admit it: you’re much better at Candy Crush now than you were three years ago, and it’s not because you took a class on it.

“As children spend more and more time interacting with digital devices, they don’t have very many opportunities to create and experiment.”

Mitchel Resnick, MIT Media Lab

The question isn’t if kids learn from the games that they play, but what they learn. The games designed for the Puzzlets platform focus on teaching children innovative ways of thinking.

Today we've released Monstrous Molecules, a game that 'sneakily' teaches chemistry. Do your kids or students think chemistry is lame, or are they having difficulty grasping concepts like ionic or covalent bonds? This game will help!

Gregory and Victoria were on the verge of a breakthrough. Alas, their experiment has opened a series of portals and it's up to them to use their knowledge of chemistry to end the madness. Will they be able to overcome the hoards of monsters or find themselves the victims of an experiment gone awry?

Hello All,

As we complete the Escape Pod and OSKR and relaunch manufacturing, we thought it would be fun to share some of the conversations we’ve had with thought leaders as we turn to the future. Many of you might know, Digital Dream Labs roots are in educational technology and that was the motivation behind us taking over Anki’s robots. Therefore, we are kicking off a small podcast series with Jenny Peterson, the Special Education Department Chair of the Los Angeles Unified School District. “Ms Jenny” has been using Cozmo in her classrooms with students in Regular Education, Asperger's Syndrome, Full Range Autism Spectrum, and Down's Syndrome programs. She is an inspiration to us for the way she uses robotics and coding to make a positive impact on all students. You can listen here: https://bit.ly/33nRj9A. Next week we’ll release an interview with one of our advisors Simon Philips, former President of Marvel.

P.S. We have a busy roadmap of exciting features coming to you, so remember to sign up for the Digital Dream Labs Membership before October 1st to be included. The link to that page is in the comments below 👇

P.P.S. We knew the latest Feature Friday would be a smash hit. The multi-part queries have increased our traffic to the server this weekend almost tenfold. As a result, there were timeout issues last night around 8-10 pm EST. Brett, our cloud engineer and total rock star, made some modifications and we’re back to normal (see graph). A lot of engineering went into expanding the cloud capabilities to handle multi-part quires and other really cool features we’ll be releasing. Of course, we are never satisfied with the status quo and are continually improving. If need be, we are also manually programming several queries where Vector appears to be having issues understanding a question, subtle differences in asking to tell a joke for example. On our platform, we can see when users' questions fail. However, if you want to report any particular issues moving forward, please email [email protected] and we’ll add it to the engineering lists and logs. Have any suggestions you want us to read? We now have a channel [email protected] where you can submit your comments.

Our guest today is Jenny Peterson, the Special Education Department Chair of the Los Angeles Unified School District, has been using Cozmo in her classrooms with students in Regular Education, Aspergers Syndrome, Full Range Autism Spectrum, and Downs Syndrome programs. Ms. Jenny, as we call her in D...

Hey Everyone, the time has come for the release! Here's the video and a couple FAQs.

Q1: Is this compatible with older versions?

A1: Yes, this technology was designed to serve current users first. We will sell clips that will attach to the bottom of a track and any car you'd like to use.

Q2: What's this about investing?

A2: If you are an accredited investor (SEC definition https://bit.ly/31U4Y7w) you can invest in this project (https://bit.ly/2Y4tTE8). The investment will essentially act as a bond. You will earn interest (~12% low end) that will be paid from the revenue this product generates every quarter.

Q3: If I am an investor outside the US can I invest?

A3: Yes, as long as you have a US social security number or employer identification number.

Q4: Will this be ready by the holiday season?

A4: Yes, this project is moving into production. Clips for current cars and tracks will be ready for purchase for the holidays.

Q5: Are you going to sell brand new sets will all of the tech inside this year?

A5: We are focusing on the current customer base to improve their gaming experience. Then we are going to move to full production of new sets with new cars and tracks that will be compatible with previous versions. We anticipate these new sets will be ready in Q2 of 2021.
