Winter storms can be hard on your tech when power becomes unstable ❄️

Here’s what helps and when to do it:

BEFORE OUTAGES
- To avoid data loss, back up important files and photos
- To avoid dead devices, fully charge phones, laptops, and battery packs
- To avoid lockouts or camera failures, replace batteries in smart locks and outdoor cameras

DURING OUTAGES
- To avoid surge damage, unplug TVs, routers, and laptops
- To avoid Wi‑Fi issues, keep modem & router powered by a backup battery surge protector
- To avoid charging damage, don’t plug devices into wall power during flickers

AFTER OUTAGES
- To avoid hidden electrical damage, wait 10–15 minutes before plugging devices back in
- To avoid network problems, reconnect modem & router last once power is steady

A few calm steps at the right time can prevent frustrating (and expensive) tech problems later.
