Amazing excitement as the Hard Rock Casino Bristol opens this week in Virginia. The facility will generate hundreds of millions of dollars for the Virginia economy and tax base. We remain hopeful Eastern Kentucky can see the same economic progress with the opening of Raven Rock Resort & Casino in Jenkins.

Congratulations to Bristol, Virginia for the passage of the Hard Rock Resort and Casino. Voters turned out in record numbers to approve by over 75% for the passage of the project. The Hard Rock Casino will bring over 2,000 direct jobs to Virginia and add $15 million to $20 million to the annual tax base in Bristol.

Residents of Eastern Kentucky are still wondering why we are unable to vote on the approval of Raven Rock Resort & Casino in Jenkins. We urge everyone to contact your local and state representatives and demand our right to control our future and jobs.

Most people don't realize that Raven Rock Resort includes three phases of development.

Phase I is the 300 room hotel and 10,000 sq ft gaming floor. Visitors will have the opportunity for fine dining and superior lodging accomodations. The plans for gaming are top notch and will bring visitors from all over the country.

Phase II is an eco-tourism project and includes dual zip lines, a gondola down to the City of Jenkins, horse trail riding, hiking, tree top climbing and adventures for children, and outdoor water games. We have even looked into the possibility of redeveloping the old railroad line between Kentucky and Virginia, including the tunnel.

Phase III Is truly for people who want the full shopping experience. We are currently talking with potential vendors in order to create an outdoor outlet shopping area, similar in experience to something you would see at a Tanger mall, but with the most beautiful scenery in the world.

Our founder, James Hibbitts, was a Jenkins boy and had a vision for rebuilding Jenkins. If you would like to see his vision come to life, contact your legislator and tell them to support the City of Jenkins by passing expanded gaming. Please also feel free to share our page.
